Okay. So, I think as a fandom we've accepted that even if Crowley was the angel [redacted] that's their deadname so Aziraphale will not use it (without permission and only as a matter of safety) in S3. But I hear folks saying Azi might call him "demon" or "my demon" affectionately. I don't buy that either. Crowley refers to himself as a "former demon" and longs for Aziraphale to love him as is. For my money, the sweetest, most loving pet name for him to hear from Azi would be "my Crowley".

I know that I defend Aziraphale like I’m his legal team and it’s my full time job, but I do think it’s important to acknowledge that at least 90% of the time they answer to “why did Aziraphale do the thing” is just that he’s insane. It’s simply that there’s something deeply and intrinsically wrong with him. Aziraphale has his “the devil made me do it” defense entirely nailed down, but in this case “the devil” is actually an angel, and it’s the little Aziraphale in his mind that whispers to him and tells him to commit the most certifiably deranged behaviors you’ve ever imagined.

This is such a "common sense" way of putting it. Everybody memorize this for spitting it back out whenever needed.
