Mine too! Except I could not get good grades in a mainstream class no matter how hard I tried or what was at stake.

"I have to mask because I need to keep my job."

Me too! Except I can't even pass an interview because of my limited ability to mask.

"I can't have meltdowns around other people or else I'll be bullied/abused/mocked."

Same here! But I can't hold in my meltdowns.

You need to understand that some people will never be able to do the things you can, no matter how hard they're pushed or what the consequences are for not doing it. I'm really sorry that you were forced to talk, but someone else being unable to speak does not mean that they could if there was enough pressure. Stop assuming that everyone who doesn't mask/speak/etc. grew up in a safe and supportive environment. There are people who would (and do!) die because they're neglected and can't learn to just do things themselves.

So sometimes the "i can do x" can be misleading wording because some people will go to impossible lengths to be able to do something. I thought my methods meant i Could suppress my meltdowns, until i was faced with the reality that, that was not suppression. Whenever i see this posts i never see a clarification of what "being able to do this" means, and for the longest time i thought i was able to do things that i couldn't actually do because of that.

I thought I could mask. Why did i think so? Because i didn't leave my room and didn't interact with people and the world and was a complete shut-in. That to me, was achieving masking. People couldn't tell i was autistic, that to me was achieving masking, i only needed to see people for very few moments and only left my room to get food right back to my room. Nobody told me that didn't mean being able to mask. I thought "People can't tell = Being able to mask" and was neglecting the fact i was avoiding all situations where I'd have to mask to a minimum.

I thought i did great at foods, and that my sensory issues with food was better... Because i would eat a minimal amount of lunch or dinner and instead raid the cabinets for junk food and took canned goods to my room when my parents weren't looking. I was still underweight but i thought since i had A Little Bit of the foods i didn't like, it meant i could do it.

❀ self soothe during burnout (bubble baths, warm drinks, nap time with cozy blankets)

❀ non verbal regressors (make communication cards! colour them and decorate with stickers)

❀ allow yourself to stim (lots of textures~ feeling the soft fur of your stuffies, fidget toys, rocking, give your whole body a big shake)

❀ safe foods (mine is yogurt pouches or crackers) pick foods with a texture you enjoy!

❀ meltdowns (when i have them i like to go to a dark room, get my blanket and stuffies, a bottle of milk and allow myself to cry and reset <3 be gentle with yourself :)

Little puttering around feeling out of place, no hand to hold, no words of encouragement for their good job of taking care of themselves.

Little that pouts, and understands why their cg is away, but wants them here nooooow.

Sundrop/moondrop regressor headcanons:

(Note: I consider sun and moon to be 2 distinct entities)

Sundrop:

☀️he’s a toddler/small kid regressor!

🖍️he’s very hyperactive! Always playing, running around and dancing!

🎈his favorite game is hide and seek! (But ofc he’s really tall so he loses often)

🌈he loves nicknames! Especially sun related nicknames! His favorite is sunshine!

🎶he’s really independent and doesn’t really need a cg but he definitely needs a playmate!

🍕he loves eating baby food! He only eat it if it isn’t messy.

✂️he’s a really crafty tot! He loves arts and crafts! It’s what he does most of the time! He especially loves making paper puppet or pop up cards!

🎁talking about mess, he’s so focused on cleaning up that it can push him out of his regression. Moon has to tell him approximately 999999999 times that he doesn’t have to think about it and that he just has to have fun😭

📚he loves bedtime stories! Except he just invents his own! They don’t always make sense but they all are fun and interesting!

Moon:

🌘he’s really grumpy but that’s bc he’s sleepy almost all the time

🌗he is dependent on a cg but not as much as you might think. The only things he needs help with are food and bedtime.

🌖he sometimes play with toys too but they’re really calm games like easy puzzles or sensory books!

🌕he needs to listen to music box lullabies to fall asleep. His favorite is “twinkle twinkle little star”!

🌔moon needs lots of reassurance and praise to make sure he does things right. He can always be sure that sun will give it to him!

🌓he doesn’t have much gear but has a blue paci (don’t ask me how he can suck on a pacifier) and a small giant teddy bear

🌒he isn’t necessarily a fan of arts and craft but he really likes creating his own stories! (Sun draw the picture for him ofc)

🌑Glamrock Freddy sometimes take care of him! He’s a really good caregiver (bc of Gregory) so when Sundrop is busy, he definitely can count on him!

🌠: Has a LOT of experience with children, so is great with you

always has your gear on him, such as fidget toys or a paci.

if you want your regression to be a secret to others, he’s very good at covering it up and hiding it.

missed taking care of the kids, so is very happy to take care of you.

ALWAYS makes the best snack plates, and is very caring about you eating well.

let’s you sit on his lap when you want. He never touch’s you without permission first.

great at cheering you up! loves playing, he is the BEST at making games.

will give you ducks, just randomly.

your baths are always fun. With bubbles, toys, and more if you want.

always has ear plugs or headphones with him in case you get overstimulated

-🐊 Big brother caregiver who’s slightly mean to his regressor 100%, not intentionally but teasingly

-🐊 Always wants his regressor to play gator golf with him, will help you with your swing aim while putting and congratulate you when you get the ball in the hole. Hole in ones earn high five and hair tussles

-🐊 Wouldn’t say he’s clingy, but protective. Doesn’t want his regressor near Glamrock Freddy just because of what happens to him and Greggory, same thing goes for Roxy and Cassie

-🐊 Takes his regressor to go annoy Roxy a lot, he’s a stinker and has his regressor right with him. Doesn’t pull pranks but definitely has annoying big brother material

-🐊 Loves his regressor regardless, but I think he would have a soft spot for emo, grudge, alt, etc regressors

-🐊 After hours, he does let his regressor sneak merch and prizes without tickets. His regressor also gets the exclusive backstage pass to come see his room

-🐊 Playful insults and backhanded compliments are his way of telling his regressor he loves them and appreciates them. On that same note, if anyone else does it, he get defensive on his regressors behalf

-🐊 Just like Bonnie, if his regressor asks, he teaches them how to play his guitar. He likes to play rock music for his regressor and jam out together
