Prototype x mother! reader

While most would think that Poppy was the only thing the Prototype cared about, possibly even loved, they were wrong. Deep in the factory, hidden from everything and everyone lies a room untouched by time compared to the rest of the factory it looked like a whole new world. In it contained a comfy little room and the closet thing Prototype ever had to a mother.

It seemed like yesterday Ollie woke up in a body that wasn't his with his “father” promising him a “better place” and that his sacrifice would allow him to finally meet his sister. While Elliot was full of false promises and only ever wanted to speak about Poppy, you were different. You cared about his feelings, his well-being, you'd ask how he felt and helped ease any discomfort he was feeling, you were his mother and un like his father, you acted like a mother should. One of his favorite differences between you and Elliot was when he asked to see his sister, with Elliot it was always “soon” but you would bring him to her, or vise versa, you were the reason he finally got to meet Poppy.

But soon things changed, you stopped showing up as often, what was once multiple daily visits became a few times a month to none at all. When he finally brought it up to Elliot during one of their talks the response he got broke his heart, “I'm sorry Ollie, your mother, she- she's not doing too well, she's very sick and it doesn't seem to be getting better.” “No. No, y-you're lying!” He cried, not wanting to accept that his mother may not recover. As time passed he became angry with Elliot, he took his life away from him, turned him into a prototype just to bring back his dead daughter, yet he couldn't do anything for his beloved mother!? He brought back the dead with his experiments yet he can't save the sick with the same experiments!? 

Well…. If Elliot won't, Ollie will have to. After all he's not losing his mother.

That led him to where he is now, he had learned Elliot’s methods of turning humans into toys, as much as he hates to admit it he's more similar to his father than he likes to admit, he too was desperate to bring back someone he loved, and used the same methods to save them, and it worked. He saved her, he saved his mother. You looked eerily similar to when you were human, only now your skin has a plasticy shimmer. But at least now Ollie won't have to say goodbye to you, as a toy your illness is gone and no longer puts your life at risk.

“Hello mother.” He said, making his voice sound like it did all those years ago, because with you that's who he was. He was just your little Ollie. “Ollie? Oh, Oliver. My baby.” You cried out, you were so happy to see one of your babies after what felt like so long. You couldn't leave this room, you would never know of the horrors just outside the door. Much like Poppy you were trapped in a cage, but your cage wasn't as obvious.

As you cuddled with your son you asked “Hey sweetie, have you seen your sister around, I haven't heard from her in a while.” Of course you worry about Poppy just like you worried about him, she was your child just like him, it was only natural. “Unfortunately no, but I will let you know if I hear from or see her” he lied, he knew where she was, of course he did he's the one who locked her in her case. “Thank you baby, you're such a good boy. I love you Ollie.” 

Oh if only you knew, Ollie only exists with you. With everyone else he's “The Prototype” he's the God of Playtime, he's feared, he's worshipped. But with you, he's loved, he's back to that little boy who just wanted parental love, and with you that's something he always got. But here he's just your baby boy, not the feared God who doesn't tolerate anyone that goes against him.So, for now.

- John will be really protective and observant, so you can be safe, but also he will be stoic and distant at first, his social skills will improve after some time with you. He will try to be more gentle with you.

“Just don’t hurt yourself, kid, okay? Be careful on this slide”.

“What is that? A rock with silly eyes? Why?” *he pauses after seeing you looking sad* “I didn’t mean… sorry. I didn’t want to hurt you. It’s my first time getting a gift like that. Can you tell me more about it?”.

“What happened? Did you hurt yourself?” *he will scan you from your head to toe* “No? You want a hug? Okay, buddy”.

- He won’t be that creative with pet names, it feels weird to him, but he will try his best to make you feel comfortable and wanted.

“Y/N… so, you want me to use these pet names? Are you sure? I like your name” *you look down and then look at him* “I will try, Y/N… I mean, kiddo”. *you smiled*

“Maybe, we can make list of pet names together? Can you help me with that?” *you wrote a few words you like and gave it to John* “See! I needed your help, my options were too dull and boring. Thank you, little Moony”. *you giggled*

“So, you don’t want to be called these things? Then you have to help me, kid” *you are shaking your head, you want him to give you a pet name* “But I am really bad at these things!” *you sat on the floor and made a sad face* “I will try… I promise, little one”.

- John will try to protect you from the truth and scary things, he won’t let you read or look at his working tools and books, he won’t bring you to cases he’s working on. He will make sure that you are safe and no one knows about you or where are you.

“I am going to work, kiddo. Will you be good for me while I am gone? Yes?” *he pauses and looks at you* “Good. We can go and have something from our favourite noodle shop later, okay?”.

“What? You want to know where I work?” *he closed his eyes and tried to think about something to say* “I am working at a library, little Moony. I help to decipher some stuff about ancient creatures and fairytales”.

“What are you doing, buddy?” *you pointed at the front door* “Oh, no-no-no. You are staying here, I will be back soon, okay? Please, don’t be mad at me, you will get bored or start sneezing because of these old books. We can go for a walk later. What do you say?”.

- He is really unfamiliar with terms and rules about age regression/age dreaming/being a system little/kiddo, but he doesn’t mind if you will talk about it with him or ask to try something new.

“Hey, kiddo” *you hold a toy in your hands* “You want to show this to me? No? You want to play? No? You want to take it to our walk? Yes? Okay, buddy. I don’t mind”. *when you get tired he will hold it for you*

“You want to call me what?” *he sat down and looked at you* “What’s wrong with my name?” *you shook your head* “Sorry… can you explain this to me?”.

“I think I am staring to understand this whole thing better, little one. But…” *he pauses and realises that he can relate to some things himself, yet he is too afraid to admit it or even think about it (for now)* “Thank you for sharing this with me. You do feel safe and comfortable with me. I… I appreciate it. I mean… Daddy appreciates it”. *you smiled*

- John will learn many things about you: likes and dislikes, facts about your life (childhood, youth, school, work, etc), conditions (if you have any), your needs and wants. Maybe, he’s not that outwardly gentle, but he does care about you and love you. He is trying his best after all the things he went through.

“I see. I won’t be able to fully understand what’s it’s like for you, kiddo. But I will try my best to take care of you and be your advocate if necessary”.

“Hey, little Moony! Look at what I got you!” *he got your favourite snacks* “I know you like these things, so I found a place where I can get it for you”. *you are feeling seen*

“I…I am really sorry, buddy. What you have been through as a little kid… it’s unacceptable” *he sighs* “Daddy has been through some tough times too. I can understand a little bit” *you put your hand on Johns shoulder and gently squeeze it to show that you are sorry and that you care* “It’s okay now, kiddo. But… it was nice to share this with someone I can trust”.

- When he’s not working he will be taking care of you and trying new things with you.

“You want to go to my library? Oh, buddy, it’s a special library for certain… people. Let’s go to another one where we can read nice books or comics. We can even get some dvds and watch it later. What do you think?”.

“You are the first and the last person who will ever be doing this to me…” *he says while you are pretending to be a spa worker and putting a face mask on him* “Hey! What a terrible customer service here!” *you giggled after you had ate a cucumber from his eye*

“No, buddy. I already told you that you can’t smoke like Daddy. It’s not good for you. Daddy is big and can do that…” *you showed him your tongue* “Here. You can blow bubbles instead”.

- John is really superstitious, he will knock on wood or spit over his left shoulder, he will talk about all of these little rituals and use them to keep you safe.

“Don’t worry, kiddo. It’s just salt. You just have to throw some of it over your left shoulder, see?” *you grabbed spilled salt and threw it over your left shoulder* “Good job, buddy”.

“I know, little one, you don’t like when water splashes all over your face, but trust me, you will feel better after because it’s a magic water” *John splashed some water on your face* “How are you feeling now, kiddo?”.

“Hey, little Moony. Come here, I will show you something” *he holds a little black box* “Look. You told me about your birthday, so I got you this special amulet. Please, wear it all the time, don’t take it off. Okay? It will make Daddy happy” *you nodded and put it on*

- He will be hesitant at first when you ask him to teach about all of these books and tools he’s working with, John will try to teach you about rituals, religions, spells and many different things in way that will make it seem like a university program for people who want to study this or explore ancient history or religions or traditions.

“Okay-okay. I will answer some of your questions, kiddo. Pick three and then ask me the most important one”.

“Yeah, I like cats too, buddy. But you know what? Cats can be guides to another world, like, portals to different dimensions. They see more things than people do. They are amazing creatures”.

“There are many different religions, little one. Many people believe in different powers or gods. It can be a way to unite with others, but it also can be a tool of control”.

- John won’t share his problems with you, he will try to keep everything negative to himself behind his abrasive and sarcastic demeanour. Yet he won’t use these defensive tactics against you (he will try his best).

“No, buddy, daddy is not mad at you, I promise” *he sat with you* “I am just tired. I will take some rest, I will be fine. Don’t worry, okay? Tell me about your day”.

“I appreciate your concerns about my health, kiddo. But I am an adult, I can do whatever I want!” *he then realised that it was too harsh, you didn’t expect this reaction from him and went silent* “I am sorry, little Moony. I didn’t want to hurt you… I just don’t like when people tell me what I can or can’t do” *he signed* “I am like a kitty cat, you know. Kitties like to be by themselves and do whatever they want and whenever they want, yeah? But also… I love my little ball of fur and giggles” *you smiled and giggled*

“This is unfair… I was helping all of these people, and for what???” *he was sitting on his bed and didn’t see you* “I can’t believe this bullshit… especially now when I have someone to lose. I need to” *he stopped and spotted you standing behind his back* “Hey, buddy. I didn’t see you. You heard what I said? Daddy is sick. Doctors told him about it today. It’s not your fault. And I will try to do something about it” *you are sitting together and holding hands*
