Yes, this, exactly this.
The fucking movie takes an abuse victim’s words (and i want to make that clear here gamorra is a victim who was killed by her abuser) of “this isn’t love” right before he kills her and then says “you’re wrong, he does love you” and gave him the soul stone.
Like that is 100% validating the abuser’s worldview and an attempt to make the abuser seem sympathetic because “look he really did love her” and hollywood has such a fucking problem with that.
And the narrative was 100% endorsing the abuser. Because it rewarded the abuser for killing the person he abused and said “that was love.”
Fuck that shit.
Abuse isn’t love. Abuse isn’t love. Abuse is not and cannot be love and anyone who says otherwise is siding with the abuser.

Abuse aside, I always felt that scene just shouldn’t have worked. It doesn’t make sense that it worked.
Having to murder someone you love to obtain power is a bit of an impossible situation? For you to truly love them you wouldn’t be able to kill them? The fact Thanos could murder Gamora so easily means he can’t possibly love her as much as the trial request?
It’s because that’s just abuse. You can’t separate the killing from abuse here because the killing is just an extension of the abuse.

I'm gonna rant for a sec.
If you ever hit your child, I have absolutely no respect for you. As someone who was not only spanked, but punched in the chest, slapped upside the head, pinched roughly, and having my dad turn his high school ring so the gem faced the palm of his hand to hit his kids on the head, I take this very seriously. My dad would show off a wooden paddle he kept for punishing his kids which was signed by all of his Marine buddies and threaten to hit us with it (I was never touched by the thing because I threatened to call the police and he took me seriously since I was his stepkid) and I remember multiple times when my siblings would get dragged into his room to get punished, kicking and screaming the whole way.
And you know what? My siblings took those experiences and learned nothing from them. My sister is violent and rough with others. She was threatened to be suspended in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. My brother cowers and covers his ears in fear if noises are too loud. Did they understood that they did something wrong when they were hit? Maybe. But what they really learned was to be sneaky and devilish and hide from their parents, just like I did.
To this day (I've been out of my parent's house for 3 years now, thank god) if someone moves too fast, I flinch and move away. If someone gets too loud or says something with even a hint of anger, I shrink back and try to hide. You know why? Because hitting your kids is abuse. Because mentally and physically messing with your kids is abuse.
And if you think your kids owe you something for you allowing them the food you buy and the roof over their head, fuck you. You brought them into this world, knowing you would have to care for them. YOU made the choice to have/keep the child. YOU chose to be responsible for another life. And YOU are responsible for any damage you do to that kid, whether it be physical or mental.

I named myself Rice because good has no gender and it’s a stimmy word and my favorite food!
I’m genderfluid so don’t really know if I count. But I chose the name Jay because it is gender neutral and makes me think of the birds and flying and freedom and all that. Also so when people are making fun of me I can ask “are you mockingjay?”
I gave myself the name Fletcher Alexander (first and middle name) because Alexander is the masculine form of my birth name (cuz I still like being referred to as Alex) and Fletcher was a name that my girlfriend suggested!

-The reason Celestia’s hair has its multitude of colors is because of her taking over Luna’s roles during her banishment. Had Luna never been sent to the moon, Celestia would have grown with her hair slowly becoming shades of pinks, oranges, and yellows. Now that Luna is back, Celestia’s hair will transform to how it should be. -Before becoming an alicorn, Celestia was born a unicorn. -In her early years, she was good friends with Discord. The two even seemed to hold a torch for each other, but realized that they were better being friends. When Discord was trapped in stone, it hurt Celestia nearly as much as banishing her sister to the moon. It took awhile after Discord was released and redeemed, but the two once again became friends. -Although Celestia is loved by her subjects, she didn’t really have any friends. She was obviously lonely, especially once her sister was banished. This is why she loves leaving her castle to walk among her subjects. It makes her feel included and normal, rather than royalty. -Becoming Daybreaker made Luna and Celestia closer than either sister could ever imagine. Celestia opened herself up more than she ever had and became vulnerable, which is the one thing Luna had never seen from her sister. It taught the two to depend on each other, no matter how big or small the problem is.

-As Luna grows older, her hair will continue to change like Celestia’s, turning into a multitude of purples, blues, and stars.
-In her younger years, Luna and Sombra were romantically involved. Celestia didn’t support the relationship at all, and ended up pulling the two apart. This is among one of the many events in her life that began the festering of Nightmare Moon inside of Luna.
-After Luna readjusted from being gone for 1000 years, Celestia began giving her the letters that the Mane Six had been sending to teach Luna friendship lessons and social skills. This way, Luna can connect with her subjects and lower her anxieties of making friends.
-Like Celestia, Luna was born a unicorn.
-In an attempt to give Luna equal control as a ruler of Equestria, Luna is sent on diplomatic visits and meetings to speak to and learn from other rulers. This is why in situations like the changeling attack on Canterlot, Luna wasn’t around to aid the others.
-After her first Nightmare Night, Luna begins to host “haunted” tours of the Canterlot Castle. Children and adults alike come from far and wide to visit the castle during the holidays, hoping to get a good fright. The morning after, the princesses host a pancake breakfast for anyone who wants to attend. Sometimes, even Cadence and Twilight join in an attempt to help spook and make as many pancakes as possible.
