...the father of Atatiana Jefferson, the young woman who had been killed by police in her home last month...died. He shouldered so much of that pain and trauma and was rightfully angry. And he died of a heart attack at only 59 years old a month after losing his daughter.

I’m reminded of Erica Garner, the daughter of Eric Garner, who took on the NYPD and fought for justice for YEARS. She died a sudden and untimely death due to health complications at the end of 2017.
