Apparently people who don't have executive dysfunction think that actually working on something is the hardest part of doing something. And that's why they get mad that you call the rest of the project "easy" after you've finally worked through doing the plan and know what to do when you're working.
So when you're through with the epiphany of how to make it physically possible to make the thing you're making, and you're sharing the plan with excitement, because the hard part is over, and now you only have to get your hands moving and do it, they get mad at you like
"it's not that easy! It's a lot of hard work! >:C"
they mean it, because
to them, working is the hardest part.
They don't have to fight their brains to get started. They don't have to fight their way through making the choices, making the plan, making yourself make the thing. People who don't suffer from executive dysfunction think that the hardest part is actually doing the thing.
but if i don’t hyperfixate i’ll get depressed and die
*runs out of hyperfixations* oh god oh fuck *lies in bed feeling empty and useless for 48 hours*
*desperately digs through old hyperfixations* there must be SOMETHING
Honestly everyone on Instagram can go homemade Will Smith is all that matters now.

my friends: haha hey whats up we havent talked in a while
me:
happy pride month to the guys from the genghis khan music video
Every part of this joke is older than most of the people on this website.
One of my least favorite mental illness things is "hungry but dont feel like eating" and its companions "hungry but all the food in the house is Illegal," "hungry but can't make anything," and "hungry, want to eat, but why bother"
Also the adhd friend “hungry but unaware of hunger because current activity is too captivating”
"Hungry but I'll get to it later"
“Definite not hungry, nope, but upon forcing oneself to eat something, discovering that the food vanished in 30 seconds and the pervasive feelings of ickiness all vanished, what the fuck"
Hungry but only for one specific food. I do not know what that food is but i do know i don't have it in the house
i think its important to recognize that when a creator you like is revealed to be a piece of shit its like. not about you. even if theyre your “comfort streamer” or they make content you like its NOT about you. you dont know that person, and unless youre the person/people they hurt it isnt your responsibility to forgive their actions.
i also get that its hard to let go of a series you love, like, a few years ago a youtuber who co-created several series i enjoyed was outed as a predator. and it sucked bc the stuff he made meant a lot to me but his personality and persona was so integral to the media itself that i couldnt in good conscience continue watching/supporting it.
as soon as the cameras were off, the same guy i was laughing along with was hurting people. he wasnt playing a character, he was playing himself, and he used that to his advantage TO harm people. and ultimately, even though it upset me, i wasnt one of the people he hurt. the victims always matter more than your own mourning of some youtube video. you cant really separate “art” from “artist” when the “art” IS that person
just like. dont blindly support people because they made a youtube video you like. read up on parasocial relationships. listen to victims
ppl are asking who this is about, and like while it was originally about the latest mcyt bullshit, it’s . just a general thing. like everyone who reblogged this is tagging it w/ a different guy. it’s about mcyt, it’s about the fnaf guy, it’s about the rt guy. this isn’t an isolated incident bc influencers are just people who have the same capacity to fuck up and do harm

mythbusters was so good because it wasn't a killjoy show. they didn't just say "see, it doesn't work" and leave it there
whenever they find that the stunt doesn't work as portrayed in the movie, they immediately ask "what would it take to make this happen?"
“we know it takes this amount of explosives to work, but what if we doubled it anyway?”
Some myths I'll always remember:
* Are elephants scared of mice? (They only did that because they were in Africa and had access to elephants.)
* Will a bull run amok in a china shop?
* Is it better to run zig-zag or straight when chased by an alligator?
I love these because NONE of them turned out the way they expected. They went into all three with pre-conceived ideas of how it would go, and each time they "failed." Elephants WILL cower from mice. A bull moves very gingerly through a china shop. It doesn't matter how you run because ALLIGATORS WON'T CHASE YOU.
And each time, they reacted with just... pure glee. "Holy shit, we were wrong! Oh my god! This is great! We were so wrong!"
And that, to me, is what science is. Being excited about being wrong because either way it's information.
Your vibe is oddly bitter and reeks of insecurity
sounds like someone needs to go in the water
EAAAAAHHHHHHH*blub blub*ahhh.

don't watch Bo Burnham's "Inside" if you are not in a safe mental place
before you get mad please let me elaborate
I am in no way saying you should never watch it, or that mentally ill people shouldn't watch it, or that you should only watch it if you are completely mentally healthy. I'm not even saying you should block the tags or avoid engaging with it at all costs
i am saying that if you are actively struggling with your mental health, for example you currently have suicidal ideation or are self harming, please be very careful about watching this special (or clips of it)
if you are struggling in that sort of way but still want to watch it now, please make sure you have a support system that you could turn to in the event that something in the special triggers a severe reaction in you
if you do not have that kind of support system but still want to watch the special, i highly encourage you to wait until you either establish one or make enough progress in your mental health that you can cope with a reaction safely
I just watched Inside and i am really glad that i'm in such a good place with my mental health, because it prominently discusses and depicts Bo Burnham's spiral into severe depression. I'm also glad it didn't come out earlier this year while I was in a depressive episode bad enough I had to increase my med dosage, which had been stable for two years. I can only imagine how watching this during any kind of dangerous mental health episode/crisis could end up. I think Inside is an incredible piece of art, but I worry about people in vulnerable situations where their impulses can lead to very very dangerous places. Plenty of the special is typical comedy music and stuff, especially in the beginning. I personally plan to go back and look for symbolism and metaphors and other subtle shit, but after the first 20-30 minutes, less and less of it is subtle. Bo Burnham made a movie of himself as he fell to a self-described All Time Low, including the ugly and scary parts. So make sure you can be safe if you’re gonna watch the whole thing, and use caution when watching clips.
TL;DR
i believe much of Inside could be very triggering to those prone to self-destruction or suicidal ideation. If that applies to you, please use caution and be proactive about your mental health before going to watch it.

my brain, stomping it’s feet: i wanna use one inconsequential negative experience to spiral into an echo-chamber of self hatred!!!
me, stirring my tea with my little plastic knife: no, we don’t do that anymore
HEY.
