Does anyone have a favourite place to find all the stories about Loki from the lore? I need to refresh my memory of them, but canāt remember what all they are or where to find them. Even just a list of what to look for will help. So, yeah, thanks in advance.
Ćrymskviưa: Loki and Thor crossdress to get Mjolnir back
ReginsmƔl: Loki pisses off a dwarf and inadvertently causes the Volsung Saga
Lokasenna: Loki crashes a party and challenges the gods to a rap battle
VƶluspĆ” hin skamma: Loki eats a witchās heart and becomes the āfather of all monstersā
SkĆ”ldskaparmĆ”l: The abduction of Idunn by Thjazi, Loki tying his balls to a goat to entertain Skadi, the seal fight with Heimdall over Freyjaās necklace
Gylfaginning: The birth of Sleipnir, Lokiās binding, the visit to Ćtgarưa-Loki
sir please thats my emotional support song that i first heard on an amv in 240p on youtube in 2009 and that i can only re-listen on youtube because it tastes better there
Hello friends we need to talk about this twitter account:
You might know him from a thread where he was getting wowed by free appetisers in a Mexican restaurant.
Firstly: He is doing a bit pretending to be a wandering samurai. It's a joke and his posts are all made up. This is very obvious if you actually look at his account and website:
He does purport to be Japanese but based on some of the other content he posts there's reason to believe he's British.
Which brings me to my second point: his Samurai content is interspersed with posts like this:
The chips and salsa thread went viral in June and his website seems to have gone live in July. This confirms what I suspected which is that said website with it's explicit disclaimers was made in response to the big viral hit.
Consequently, back when he first blew up it was potentially a bit harder to figure out that his stories are fictional. That said, the New York Times worked it out so I'm comfortable accusing outlets who ran the story describing him as a Japanese world cup tourist of legitimately terrible journalism.
Yeah this is also the guy from the truck thread going around. That's what prompted this post and in retrospect I should have said so explicitly.
He claims he just uses AI to translate his posts from Japanese. He also says the art on his website isn't AI generated. I think he is full of shit on both counts.
I only gave a couple of examples but even on a brief look through his twitter it was apparent that he posts a LOT about UK politics to the point where he's quite patently British. He is a Restore supporter which is a party that split away from mainstream far right party Reform due to feeling they weren't right wing enough.
It might not surprise you to hear he does not seem to know shit about Japan? Both the salsa story and the truck story failed the smell test for people who are familiar with Japan. There's also a story about going to a potluck where he seemingly couldn't come up with a single Japanese dish for the character to cook??
Yeah his whole bit is racist and it is troubling that so many people took a guy badly roleplaying as a medieval samurai to be a 21st century Japanese tourist.

Well, another Belegarth event come and gone...and I took no pictures. I took even fewer pictures than I usually do, which is at least a couple (and definitely at people's knightings.)
At Monster Mash, this had a couple of reasons: one, our camp was pretty far from all the action; two, I was always doing something and talking to people; three, my phone was low on battery for most of it.
For those of you who take a lot of pictures at events, how do you take your camera/phone with you? I've been thinking about getting a digital camera with a strap that I can put on my sash so I'll have it with me.
Something just occurred to me in the category of "experiences I feel are universal but are probably not." So here's a poll!
Have you ever been tent camping?
Yes, but not since I was a child
Yes, I have camped in a tent as an adult (possibly also as a child)
No, I have never gone camping in a tent.
Voting ended onAug 15
We're including any kind of tent, but not RVs or campers. Open-air camping (with no tent) or with tarp tents counts as tent camping for purposes of this question.
"I'm just going to pop in to the big used bookstore to see if they have this one thing I'm after, and if they don't, I will leave emptyhanded."
šThis is the most seditious, deceitful statement in the universe. The vizier in your head is betraying you. .
(two unrelated books now sitting on passenger seat) "Well let me just pop in to the other big used bookstore to see if they have the one thing I'm after, and this time I'll really commit to leaving emptyhanded if they don't."
šYour kingdom is being divided up among internal conspirators at this very moment, and you are none the wiser.
I came up with some ideas for how a Primarchs wife would be titled by the legions and by the general public.
Legion mother is sort of a generic term across the board. For an example Astartes from different chapters would use Legion Mother with each other since it has no implications other than being their Primarchs wife, that and in official circumstances itās considered their formal title, ie Coraxās wife would be introduced as Lady Corax, Legion Mother of Raven Guard.
This is not a full list since Iām not as familiar with some legions so I may make a part two one day
Night Lords:
Domina Nox
- Literally means āLady of the Nightā but doesnāt have the same implications (although Iām sure the joke has been made, and the would be comedian is swiftly taught the error of their ways)
- Domina on its own can also mean āmistress of the householdā or just āwifeā, however it can also be translated as āownerā. the legion probably wouldnāt use the shortened version in most cases, but Curze might recreationally.
The Dark Queen of Nostramo
- This would be mostly used by people outside of the legions and off Nostramo, for example a newspaper on Macragge might say āThe Dark Queen of Nostramo today met with our ambassadorsā. Itās a reflection of Curzes title that simultaneously recognises her as an equal to him but also makes a dig at what she represents. The kind of snarky wordplay politics loves
- Itās occasionally used by some Night Lords and Curze in a shortened form, ie āThe Dark Queen requires our presenceā or āMy Dark Queen has no time for your foolishness, leave now before I present her with your head.ā
The Mad Queen
- A term used exclusively amongst civilian populations and meant in an insulting to occasionally sympathetic manner. Usually itās in reference to the fact she married and stuck by Curze even as he began to spiral, the juxtaposition between her more tempered manner and her continued enforcement of her husbands laws makes her seem unstable to the untrained eye.
- In the future when the true story has become blurred itās used to refer to her much like an archetype from a play, a queen dragged down into her husbandās madness and driven to extremes. Itās said in a hushed saddened tone that conveys a warning about following in her footsteps and what love can drive a person to.
White Scars:
Khatun
- This oneās fairly obvious, itās the title given to a Khans wife. I can imagine many of the White Scars would use āThe Great Khatunā when in conversation with others, both as a show of respect and to remind others to mind how they speak when sheās the topic of discussion.
Dark Angels:
Lady ElāJohnson
- Lady āfirst nameā was typically used for wives of Knights, and I can see this being the norm of Caliban but off planet surnames are more of the norm for formality.
- It would also play into the Dark Angels penchant for secrecy, only on Caliban and amongst trusted company would their Legion Mother be Lady āFirst Nameā in any other situation itās Lady ElāJohnson
The Lioness
- This one is a little more tongue in cheek and largely used amongst the Primarchs to refer to their sister in law and some of the other legions in recognition of her ferocity.
Mistress of the Knightly Orders of Caliban
- This one is a formal title used mainly on Caliban and formal events on Terra when her arrival is being announced. The Lion specifically created the title as recognition of her station and to give her rank amongst the legion so her authority isnāt only seen as an extension of his.
- It gives her domain over the āwomanlyā tasks of the order, acquisition of food, clothing, and maintenance of household. Essentially the entire homefront falls under her command, and her authority on these matters often outweighs that of her husbands.
- The largest part of this is overseeing and organising the serfs for the entire legion, itās mainly just the ones serving on Caliban but any major changes throughout the entire legion have to go through her first.
Space Wolves:
Wolf Mother
- Another self explanatory one, she is the Space Wolves mother so she is āWolf Motherā. I like to think that on their wedding day Leman gifted her a wolf pelt to wear which became a trademark of her appearance.
Frue Russ
- Frue was the title given to a Jarls wife, I see this as being what the citizens of Fenris would call her instead of anything like queen.
- Iāve seen mixed sources that say Frue was specifically for a wife who owned land in her own right, but Iām not 100%. I can see Lemans wife as someone who can lead in her own right so bringing her own land and people into the marriage wouldnāt be far fetched
Ultramarines:
Lady Guilliman
The Lady Ultramar
- Iām going to group these two together since theyāre both fairly generic, theyāre the kind of on paper titles that get the point across
The Imperial Regent Consort
- This is after Guilliman becomes Regent and naturally his wife gets a title to match, itās wholly an invention of Terra and only sees use from them and other Imperial citizens outside of the Ultramar sector.
Augusta
- Historically itās Roman title given to empresses of exception that allowed them to wear imperial regalia and hold their own court.
- I imagine that Lady Guilliman can do all of this and more and so is given the title to match, sheās another who I think manages the āhomeā whilst her husband is away on campaign.
Mater Ultramar
- āMother of Ultramarā, similar to the Roman title for the empress āMater Patriaeā, may be called Mater for short informally by some Ultramarines but this is usually an indicator of dire circumstances or moments of great strife when the boys in blue just want their mum.
Salamanders:
Forgemother
- I assume that Vulkans wife would know her way around a forge, and I like to think she makes little trinkets for the Neophytes to put on their first set of armour
Lady of Drakes
- Matches her husband and would usually be used as a formality on Nocturne, like when sheās being introduced at an event.
Raven Guard:
Raven Mother
- This one would be used by legionnaires when speaking to Lady Corax directly ie āRaven Mother, we have news from The Shadow of The Emperor.ā
- The civilians of Deliverance would also use it when referring to her to others ie āThe Raven Mother is holding an event laterā
The Shadowed Lady
- She doesnāt command the shadows as her husband does but is protected by them just the same, shadows can often be seen draping over her like a cloak when in her husbands presence.
- This would also be the name used to refer to her in Corspake and other semi coded communications.
Word Bearers:
The Madonna
- This would be in the religious sense (not like the singer). Especially after the heresy the Word Bearers come to idolise their Legion Mother as the perfect woman. Sermons are given on how all wives and mothers should strive to emulate her.

To wear no earrings in the court might imply a coward, a hysteric, or as someone with something to hide, and to appear thus would be immense
The social breakdown of the assassination attempt is the only time Maia is permitted to appear outside the Alcethmeret without any jewellery, and the only time anyone verbalises the impracticality of the imperial costume. It being Kiru to express disdain for it (Kiru, who has existed outside of the court structures in a job in a charity hospital (320), and who is markedly older than the rest of Maiaās direct attendants, who are all young men) finally legitimises Maiaās feelings of resentment for something that everybody else considers at the least normal, and at the most, mandatory. It creates a sense thatĀ someone,Ā at least, recognises Maia as a person before an imperial figurehead, even if it is not usually thought prudent to say so.
+ my two previous analyses:
āI cannot make the answer other than it wasā: Reading Queer Futurity In The Chronicles of Osreth
Surviving and Subverting Revenge Tragedies in āThe Goblin Emperorā
Vulkan reviews the craftsmanship on a masterwork power sword
WIP and rambling below the cut!
This one was fun but sucked ass. I wanted to do more guys for size comparison, but I figured the power sword looking so teensy in his hands would suffice? He is so beautiful to me

There is a profound beauty in the way Ā«Beckettās Jyhad DiaryĀ» ultimately brings its core philosophy to life. At 560 pages, it is a massive, substantial piece of work. As you read, you find yourself consumed by the immediate struggles of the characters ā by what is happening to Beckett and those he meets along the way ā rather than the moral of the story, which barely peeks through the background of the narrative.
In a sense, Beckett is constantly walking in circles. He is too proud, too stubborn to accept the idea that no vampire ever truly has control over their own existence. Time and again, he throws himself against the Ā«inevitableĀ». He hunts endlessly for answers to questions that, in the end, don't actually matter ā because all the meaning is found in the search itself.
He begins by denying Gehenna entirely; then, he seeks proof that it is merely a cycle; and finally, he realizes that he was never truly haunted by the prospect of the apocalypse. Instead, he was driven by the sense of purpose that his wanderings gave to his unlife.
He studies the Jyhad, dissecting its roots and seeking a way to escape the vicious cycle of Eternal War ā only to break free by accident. In the end, his diary ā the result of centuries of work ā falls into the hands of Kemintiri, and dozens of vampires find themselves dangerously compromised. The very act of losing his unlife's work becomes the moment he finally steps outside the cycle he spent so long trying to understand. The scene where Theo Bell, Talley, Hesha Ruhadze, Lucita, Fatima, Sascha Vykos, and all the others find themselves digging a hole in the Egyptian sands together is utterly comical. Yet, if you stop laughing, it represents a true apotheosis ā a rare victory over the Jyhad itself. Itās the moment when one fussy, restless vampire accidentally forced a crowd of others to unite. Regardless of their age, their generation, their Sects, or their deep-seated hatred for one another, they worked side-by-side. Even if most of them were furious at Beckett for his blunder, they were there, together.
Then there is the later scene where Anatole ā whom Beckett had been bitterly resentful of since their time in Jerusalem ā saves both him and Lucita from a brutal collision between the Anathema and the Alastors. It serves as one final, powerful reminder: the Jyhad may be one of the curses of Caine, but it is not inevitable. It is not inescapable.
Ā«All his frantic efforts of the past nights, indeed of the long years of his quest, and it was only the words of a mysterious ancient and the final actions of one who had abandoned her humanity, that led to any revelation, any truth of the Kindred purpose. And it was only this: It didnāt matter.
It didnāt matter what God had intended when he reached down and smote a farmer who had shed the blood of man. It made no difference what God had intended Caineās offspring to be. An object lesson, a plague on mankind, a catalyst to force the nations of humanity to work togetherānone of it mattered.
For the Kindred, while cursed, had still enjoyed the greatest of all Godās gifts. Free will. The ability to choose, as Lucita did, each his own purpose, his own meaningĀ». (Ń) Ā«The Final NightĀ»
Free will and the right to choose, my dear, silly vampire. The very things youāve always excelled at.
