I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

I finally felt represented. I finally found a story where romance and rose relationships were not only largely irrelevant, but barely even presentin the story. And it was sci-fi? And the two main characters are autistic-coded? And it’s super hopeful? It was like it was tailor made just for me! I was so excited to share my love of the story with others, and celebrate platonic relationships and hope and science and joy, and instead all I see is shipping.

And no matter how many individual ship tags I block, I still see the shipping content. It’s inescapable. I can’t block every single fathomable ship tag*. I just want to feel happy about the implied aroace positivity and instead I’m surrounded by amatonormativity and compulsory sexuality and allonormativity and sex and romance (and I’m rose-averse and sometimes even rose-repulsed!) and if I say anything about it, I’m villainized and mocked and accused to fandom policing.

I just want to be able to escape the shipping and find the other people who enjoy the aspec narrative as an aspec narrative. That’s literally it. But if I say “hmm maybe people should consider if amatonormativity is impacting their perceptions” I’m the problem.

Noone will see a movie and think "oh i should watch this with Alias", there wont be someone who sees a fun activity and think "oh i bet this would be fun to go to with Alias", never will there be anyone to think "oh a long weekend is coming up, i should check if Alias is available for something". Sure there will be times, or occasional happenstances when friends remember, but unless you can manage to find another aroace person, their priorities will likely always be with someone else.

And... that is... okay... or should be atleast?, i cant honestly find it in myself to be angry at them about this, afterall its not really their fault... Yet, i also cant say it doesn't hurt. Sure, i could probably get something like this if i looked for a relationship, but not only would i be lying to them, id also be lying to myself, at which point could i even really enjoy it?
