i work at the mcdonalds in the pentagon

how do i get the courage to just... walk into a new synagogue? i don’t have jewish friends in my new city and it hurts a little. the closest people in my life since i moved here are married to each other, and they met in their catholic high school. they are some of the best, kindest, most understanding people i know, but i just can’t talk to them about some of the things that matter the most to me. i know they love me, they call me their adopted kid, but i can’t help but feel like a villain when i bring up certain holidays or beliefs. i just can’t talk to them like i used to be able to talk to people i knew years ago. i just want to connect again. i just want to be able to recite the shema with someone in person again

wish i knew a better way to deal with my family than just turning off my phone and drinking myself to sleep. i’m tired of the deadnaming. i’m tired of the “when are you coming back home?” because they don’t believe i can make it on my own. they literally moved across the US earlier this year but have explicitly told me they have a room for me “just in case”. i’m tired of the lectures and threats and fights. gonna do a giant dab and try to turn my brain off again because i just woke up from a (pretty great) drunken nap and feel too sober to exist but CANNOT healthily drink any more today and still get up for the pride parade tomorrow

i’ve worked merch for this band three times now and i’m thinking maybe it’s time to learn the names of everyone and not just the lead singer because i can’t find him rn and i’m pretty sure the guy at the end of the bar is the drummer but like. no idea. can’t ask around for the other members because i don’t. know. their. names. and doors open in an hour
