trees are very 🥺 because sometimes i’ll stand under the shade of a tree and look up at it and it’ll sway its branches about in the wind and i’m like oh my God i’m alive and YOU’RE alive. we are alive together and made up of the same starry stuff and standing right next to each other in this moment on this earth. do u feel it when i reach out and press my hand to your trunk? can you hear me? i think you’re so neat. and then the sunlight filters through its leaves just so and that lovely green color leaves me dazzled. it’s just very nice to be an alive thing next to a different sort of alive thing

The main thing I learned in undergrad gen-ed labs is that even if the syllabus says you don’t need goggles, you should probably still just wear goggles. Even if it’s just you. Trust me on this.

In a Geology 101 lab we had little bottles of acid to squirt on rocks for identification and the first across the table managed to squirt acid directly into my eye from three feet away and after using the eye rinse for ten minutes to no relief I asked the TA what the protocol is for this and whether I should go to the hospital or if it’s normal for it to burn for a while and he said “I have no idea.”

A professor in a Zoology 100 course splashed formaldehyde into both my eyes. Just bring your own goggles.

A house that is a few degrees below room temp feels colder than being outside on a 50º day

But….isn’t room temperature based on the temperature of the room? So the temperature of whatever room your in is that rooms temperature, and it varies from room to room? That feels rather self explanatory to me

room temperature is roughly 68-71 degrees. it’s not based off the individual temperature of a room
