i remember listening to the marty ross adaptation of treasure island and really liking it but being jarred by the use of the term "woman of colour" which felt totally anachronistic but then i looked it up and it turns out it's in the original text and has a historical usage which i never knew about. and i just found out there's actually an 1808 novel called 'the woman of colour'!!

my fyp is all black sails stuff for no reason i can think of. i watched a few eps of that show and then fell off it so it's interesting to experience it vicariously. idk who this guy is, happy for you tho or sorry that happened
