I've been debating watching I Saw the TV Glow again but I don't think I'm prepared for that kind of emotional damage again ;-;

Spoilers for undertale ahead

Papyrus is the sweetest and kindest character in this entire game ok. This guy throws himself out a window so you can become friends with undyne. He is the only character who has no intentions to kill you (other than toriel) and in fact CANNOT kill you (shout out the theory that hes more powerful than he lets on)

When he goes to encorage alphys after the date with undyne, when he finds out something is Very Wrong the first thing he does? Call someone for help. When he rejects you he does so incredibly kindly. He litterally cannot lie to undyne. He thinks his friends and brother are the coolest people ever and will not hesitate to talk about them. He gives you free food. It may suck but he makes spaghetti with the sole purpose of giving it to his friends.

Hes very blorboable!!!! Take it from a utdr/utmv fic writer he IS very optimistic and encouraging but he can also be a kicked puppy if need be. Very fun to put in situations. His no mercy death diolouge and the king papyrus ending are intresting glimpses into that side of him in an odd way.

Hes implyed queer and nurodivergent. Litterally anyone whos ever played undertale will tell you hes absolutely autistic. Misses glareing social ques but builds elaborate puzzles and paints a wall of ice to look like a realistic bridge and forest. He also refers to mettaton as sexy and refers to himself gender neutrally a lot (the "NO GIRLS ALLOWED, NO BOYS ALLOWED, PAPYRUS ALLOWED" sign on his door, calls himself "mama papyrus" in one neutral ending, probably more i cant remember atm) and as a nonbinary autistic i like that abt him

Lastly hes silly and cringe and i love him for it. After his battle he just. Flies away. Its never adressed again. He has spaghetti under his hat in his date, aforementioned throwing himself out a window (says he has to go to the bathroom when he does, made infinitely funnier when you remember he doesnt even do that) , has -12 followers online (hed love tumblr oh my gosh) and posts pictures of him with taped on biceps with sunglasses, sleeps in a race car bed, cries at the end and immediately runs off to go do things. Hes a whimsical guy

And ik i basically covered all my bases on this one but if were takeing attractiveness into account this guy is ABSOLUTELY boyfriend material. He will do anything for you, is an absolute gentleman to everyone, incredibly loving, and just gorgeous. Im not even attracted to him but i see the appeal

Anyway thank you for coming to my ted talk about why i like papyrus and you should vote for him. Yeag.

Huntr/x has been doing this gimmick for years where they'll put on a performance and some actors dressed up like demons will "interrupt" it or get into some choreo fights on stage and stuff. If you're a fan you know, the demons usually symbolize things like industry corruption, Mira's struggle with her family, Rumi being in the closet, etc, and there's lots of hints and secret messages to the fans in what they're wearing or how they show up. Check out huntresx5evah on blsky they've got an extensive examination of the "demons" over the years and what the messages to the fans are.

In the concert before Golden was released, the demons were dressed like flight attendants. That was the indication that something new was about to take off. @/queenhuntrixdontmiss and I speculated that it was going to be a new single and low and behold, it was.

But then the live performance got cancelled. It's an open secret that Rumi was having vocal issues, so that was probably not planned. They needed to buy time for her to recover, so, enter the Saja Boys -- a fake band of guys really clearly pretending to be demons, they release ONE single, do a bunch of b-tier variety shows for a week, nearly all of their public appearances have Huntr/x right there, keeping the hype and energy up until Rumi can get her throat polyps removed and furthering the routine where Huntr/x are supposed to be secret demon hunters and the Saja Boys are supposed to be secret demons.

Then the whole thing culminates in the Golden live performance at the idol awards, the big act with Huntr/x fake "break up" and the subsequent theatrics to make it up to fans for failing the first Golden performance. Huntr/x takes their obligation to fans very seriously, I've no doubt that they all felt terrible about having to cancel, so a free show was the obvious recourse to try and make it up to people. And they pulled out all the stops!
