In a building or a vehicle that has the A/C cooling all the way up. Outside on a really chilly night. In a drafty house in winter. Woefully underdressed for the climate. They were already shivering a little from the fever, and theyâd probably shiver a little in this situation even if they didnât have a fever, so in combination theyâre shivering enough itâs making their teeth chatter. Itâs sapping every last bit of energy they had, really quickly and efficiently.
Dead of summer. Vehicle or building with broken A/C, or just A/C turned way too low. On a hike in the sun. In long sleeves or long pants when itâs too hot for something like that. Overworking and feeling way too physically warm from it. Maybe they can even tolerate the heat just fine normally, maybe they canât, but either way itâs putting them far over the edge and itâs making them flushed and sweaty and nauseous. Just maximum possible discomfort from this fever.

Okay I am absolutely feral for someone being angry with a sick character and then immediately changing their tune when they find out the person is sick
BUT
What about someone being angry at the sick character and then when they send them a message like ,âWe need to talk,â the sick person says, âCan we do it later? I have the flu.â So the angry one is just like, âYeah,â and doesnât say anything to them again for a couple weeks, just leaves them to recover alone.
Or theyâre in an argument and the angry person notices the sick one is too unwell to pay attention or keep arguing. So they stop and say, âYou know what, weâll talk later.â And they leave, and the sick person just sinks into the couch, relieved that they can turn off now.
A character who shows up to the function sick, but since they donât say anything about it, no one else brings it up either (even though they all can tell). But as the evening wears on, they start to feel much, much worse, unsteady on their feet and fuzzy-headed while they try to hide what would be their more obvious symptoms.
Until finally they return to the group and say, wearily, âIâŚdonât feel well.â Most of the group is like, âYeah, we knowâ in a casual, lightly teasing way.
But the characterâs close friend is visibly concerned like, âNo, you donât understand, if theyâre saying that, theyâre about to hit the floor.â
