Viktor

Jayce's hands shake as he tries to answer his phone. He has to repeatedly tap the screen, fingers red and starting to go numb. He tries to keep the image of his mother's fingers, black, dead, gone, out of his head.

With a huff, he brings the phone up to his ear. Fuck. He needs to put on gloves.

"H-Hey, Vik," he laughs, a little too high-pitched. Snow falls on his nose. He tries to ignore it. His hands haven't stopped shaking. "I— I'm on the way, I'll be there soon. I— I'll be fine. I'm f-fine."

He's not fine. It's cold. It's freezing. It's snowing, and he's outside, walking to Viktor's place.

viktor felt relief rush through him the second jayce answered the phone. he was ok. he was fine. he wasn’t dead or frozen or gone, just when viktor had found him.

“hey, love,” he said keeping his voice light as he hurried around the room, getting a fire started and making hot cocoa. “it’s ok if you’re not fine, jayce. what happened to you… it would scare me too. i wouldn’t be ok. it’s ok if you need to feel.”
