@everyone I'm sorry for doing this but I genuinely need help. My dad is going to cut me off from the outside world. He's threatening the belt again. I can't be here anymore. I can't do this. I'll be in worse trouble if and when he finds out what I do on the internet (Discord, Tumblr, etc.), because he says he's going to search through my entire phone with a professional who can extract information. He wants to ground me until I'm eighteen, with no freedom whatsoever. He won't even let me draw. I'm sneaking this since I can only use my computer for school. I need to get out of here. Please help. I'll take anything. Anything you can offer at all. I can't handle this. I genuine;y can't be here anymore. I feel like if I do then I'll snap and do something like yell at my dad, and if I do that, he'll definiitely get out the belt or do something to make things ten times worse. Please please please I'll take anything you can give me please. I need to get out of here or cope or something and I have nothing and I am GOING to have nothing, this is my hail mary, no puns intended.

I don't know anything about you, and I don't know what I can do to help.

As someone who also has an abusive parent, I need you to know you're not alone.

What this man is doing to you is horrible. It is dangerous. And with the stuff abt searching through your phone and grounding you, it borders on ILLEGAL. Nobody deserves to be in your situation.

You are brave. You are strong. You matter.

And then you actually look onto the research.

Kids do not generally hate learning or school. Quite the opposite. Children tend to enjoy learning and are naturally curious. It is exactly the fact that they are forced into school and into the rigid structure of it that often punishes curiosity but also is hostile towards the differences inherent in people, that kids hate it.

Kids do not naturally hate medical care. While medical care is scary at times, the fear usually comes from medical care scenarios being defined by adults overriding a child's agency, not explaining things to him, and otherwise being abusive, that makes children afraid of medical procedures. Additionally the way a lot of medical procedures go hand in hand with denying a child's reality ("Look, it is not that bad") tends to be traumatizing to children.

There have been studies done in this. If you explain a child - even a toddler - what you do and why, children will generally be a lot more okay with stuff like needles and simple procedures, and will even agree to necessary surgical interventions.

If you create a learning environment that allows more for self-directed learning, and involves less specific testing, most kids actually will enjoy learning.

And a bird man? A bird man can be any type of bird doesn’t matter. Owl men, peacock men, penguin men, they’re all birds who cares right?

So tell me, why is it that a cat man can’t be a hyena? Hyenas are part of the suborder Feliformia, literally “cat-like” animals. Hyenas are closer related to cats than crocodiles are to lizards. Like really what’s stopping “Gnoll” from being a subspecies of tabaxi? Why are we so quick to group reptiles and birds together when we’re so specific about mammals?

Like...I guess I kinda get it? Lions don't all have the same agility as other cats

What if the children go to schools unafraid of tear gas and bullets?

What if the birds come back, and the bees are healed, and every species moves from endangered, to threatened, to thriving?

What if the rainforest ADVANCES?

What if every parking lot had solar panels? What if every structure had solar panels? What if we built climbing gyms and terraced gardens in the skeletons of old coal power plants?

What if you baked your neighbor bread, and they shared their home-grown blackberries?

What if every person who needed a home, had one? What if every person who needed healing was healed?

What if every body was treasured for what it was, not what it should be?

What if every trans child's parents attended their graduation, their wedding, their new-name-day?

What if every warehouse became a closed-circle repair station? Goods flowing out, and back, and out again? What if landfills started to SHRINK?

What if the water and air were clean? What if there was enough public transit that the cars dwindled, leaving the streets safe for kids on bikes, evening deer, midnight cats and foxes?
