if you live in the West you have been conditioned to hate Muslims, South West Asians, and North Africans. You have been conditioned by virtue of being born in close proximity to empires who have dedicated entire structures of society, institutions from education to The Arts™ to governments to entire economies - all dedicated to dehumanizing and disenfranchising and destroying the so-called "Middle East" (a name itself that "the West" created to obscure the geography and thus more easily justify their pillaging) out of greed and white supremacy. "How could this happen?" ppl cry as the West falls in line behind so called Israel's attacks and attempted genocides in Iran, In Palestine, In Lebanon, In Syria....It happens because the West is built on defining itself against the "Middle East". There is no "the West" without the violent colonisation of SWANA peoples, Black peoples, Latin American peoples, Indigenous peoples and so on. If you live in the so-called West you were raised to believe your country's greatness is intrinsically thanks to your country Not Being Like Them. "Them" being Muslims, being Arabs, being Indigenous peoples, and so on and "the West"'s "wars" are how this paradigm is enforced. They cannot allow the peoples they built entire national and institutional identities on being superior to become liberated from that paradigm, to become their equals. If any SWANA country was permitted real sovereignty over their lands and resources, the West would have to actually answer to them. This cannot be, of course. So they spend 1000s of years colonising and pillaging and raping and displacing and massacring these lands and their ppl and go home and justify it with every institution and so called nation they build. That is why Israel was built as a project by the US and UK in the first place. The reason you think "well, Iran's regime should fall actually🙄" in response to the Iranian people being bombed and displaced by a pet US state is because you have been conditioned here in the heart of empire to believe that no peoples' outside of "the West" are capable of sovereignty and self-determination because your whole life was built on that very very very very very old lie. And the worst of it is, even after years of livestreamed genocides in Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Iran, Lebanon...so many people still won't confront the lie.
