And right when he does get a little bitty break to have something to eat right before he gets to take a bite- holding the food in his hands and everything he gets called for a dispatch and just sobs

(Based on real life events but with my friend and one of her coworkers)

Oh geez…

Honestly I’d sob too.

Like he’s got his lunch. He heated it up and everything. He’s thinking “ah finally time to myself” and he’s about to take a bite when he hears his earpiece go off. It’s Robert.

Robert: Waterboy, I know you’re on break right now but there’s a massive fire and you’re needed.

Waterboy:…

Waterboy: O-On it…boss….

Robert: Good. Ill let you restart your break when you get back.

Waterboy:…R-Right. Okay.

Waterboy:….

Waterboy: *starts sobbing*

Robert: Are you okay??

Waterboy: IM FINE!! Q-Q

And Waterboy goes out, does his thing and is heading back to SDN. Robert goes to get some coffee and he notices one of the new janitor hires with a very familiar looking lunch box (more like a lunch bag?) and he’s dumping the contents into the trash and Robert realizes two things

One, he sent Waterboy when he was trying to eat.

Two, the janitor threw Waterboy’s lunch away, so Waterboy has no lunch.

And Robert is about to tell the janitor off when..he sees yellow in the corner of his eye.

Uh oh. It’s Waterboy.

And Waterboy is staring at the janitor who threw his lunch away. And Robert has NEVER seen the five stages of grief flash across someone’s face that fast in his LIFE. And then Waterboy smiles, turns to Robert and he says he’s going to the pool. And Robert goes to apologize and he says he’ll try to get him SOMETHING to eat..

But Waterboy just keeps smiling and he says he’s going to the pool room. He’ll be back in time by the end of his break.
