Now, it was very much to be expected that everyone will be intrigued about it the most because Lobo has his daughter Crush in the team Kory is leading, while the Thanagarians absolutely fit the vibe and setting of Kory's show. Gotham doesn't — at least if you listen to a certain editorial (I'll get there in a second) — so of course the sole connection people make between Kory and Gotham is Dick.

Don't get me wrong, I'll have no problems if she gets in Gotham narrative wise to meet Dick and start their relationship's build up. It's very likely that will indeed happen, especially considering that Brianne, one of the executive producers, and Hynden, her voice actress, are both great fans of their romance. But there are also chances she gets there to befriend Batman or Cass or Steph or some other characters, not necessarily Dick.

No matter what will happen, as much as I love dickkory, Kory in Gotham is very important not because of Dick or Batman. It's huge from a narrative and imaginary standpoint, because it proves what I have kept saying over and over again: Kory not fitting in Gotham, or indeed any other place, is a completely pathetic excuse, made up to hide a systemic problem in how hated and denigrated Kory has been in the past 30 years by the Bat editorial.

We kept hearing about an imaginary "rule" made up by a bunch of people for a fictional universe, in a fictional city, for fictional characters: Kory is not allowed in Gotham/she doesn't fit/she can't be written there. In reality, that "rule" was either misoginy, hatred, pettiness, lack of imagination, or all combined.

And all of these were masked by pinning the blame on Kory as a character. She was called "too much" for a "grounded" place like Gotham. Too bright, too fantastical, too sexual, too visible, too... anything. Surely, the fictional woman was the problem, and not the Bat writers who insulted her, demeaned her, attacked her, dehumanized her and minimized her because they were too threatened by her.

A fictional character can fit anywhere as long as there is a desire to integrate them in said place and enough imagination to do so. Kory as a character was never to blame. Indeed, she has that rare quality for a character: she can work in any setting, any genre, any place. And I'm very happy that Josie, Brianne and co. will prove that once again.
