I don’t know what to say. I thought it would have some Shizaya but I didn’t think it’d be this obvious (I didn’t think Izaya would be so honest). It’s all out in the open now, there’s nothing for me to analyze. 

There is a lot to unpack in episode 11 of Yuri!!! on Ice. Hardly a moment is wasted and though there is a large focus on the part C portion we have information right from the start that helps us understand this story in regards to Yuuri and Victor. Here is my overly long take on the goings on of episode eleven.

We start the episode with what seems to be an in-world introduction to the GPF contestants. Even on what seems to be an in-world piece of media we see Yuuri and Victor and their relationship all intertwined. The footage from the end of episode seven is used and there is mention over it of the fact that Yuuri’s theme is Love. This is any obvious in-world link showing us that not only do we, as the audience, see the connection of Yuuri and Victor’s relationship to Yuuri’s theme, but that it is also noted by the audience in the show.

We quickly move on to Yuuri on the ice for Eros.

“Shizu-chan is a hero!”

They were not on top of a building.

They were on the ground in an isolated area, with the strongest man standing alone and his arch enemy approaching him.

The story of how they had gotten to that point was one they didn’t even know themselves.

With wide eyes, Shizuo stared at the man in a wheelchair, and gritted his teeth in heavy self-restraint.

“WHY THE HELL ARE YOU APPEARING IN FRONT OF ME AGAIN?!”

“Saying those words…then appearing in front of me in a fucking wheelchair…JUST WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PLANNING DAMN IT?!”

“…..”

“I’m a monster. I’m a monster who only knows how to destroy. What I did to this city is proof…and so is the sight in front of me.”

Deep bitterness filled Shizuo’s eyes at his own words, and his smile was like broken glass.

“That’s right. I always knew the truth. I isolated myself because I didn’t want to hurt people, but in the end I couldn’t control it. I wanted to protect the people I care about…but all I could do was destroy.”

“…So what are you going to do? Run away?”

Izaya said sarcastically, but Shizuo responded with honesty.

“Yeah.”

With the bravery he had left, he stepped forward.

“Run away with me.”

“…What?”

“Run away with me. Since it’s you, it should be fine. I’ll take responsibility for your injury. Run away with me, and I’ll take care of you. I won’t lay a hand on you. I’ll…help you…heal.”

There was a resolution in Shizuo’s eyes –

And Izaya rejected it mercilessly.

“No thanks.”

The hope faded away from Shizuo’s gaze.

“…I see.”

You’ve already run away once, why can’t you do it again?

Shizuo didn’t say those words, he merely spoke as if to himself, “Then I guess I’ll be alone.”

“Goodbye, Izaya.”

Once an artist creates a work, they own the copyright

None of this “I paid for the art. It is mine.” bullshit, unless the artist actually sells you the copyright (something which has to be stated and never assumed, and something you would have to pay extra for) you can not claim ownership over the piece, even if you paid for it.

And yes, this means you can not alter the work in any way, you can not use it for banners/advertisements/etc., you can not print it, you can not sell copies unless agreed upon with the artist

and artists are also protected under moral rights

meaning that the artist has the right of attribution (the right to be identified and named as the creator of their work), the right against false attribution, and the right of integrity. (Source)

So I can’t brush my teeth. Like, it’s the worst kind of hell. I went to the dentist for a cleaning today and I told the hygienist this, and she was wonderfully helpful.

There are some incredibly soft toothbrushes available- namely, post-surgical brushes. Running them under hot water makes them even softer.

She told me that you don’t really need to use toothpaste- it’s mostly marketing. The foam gets to me, so that is really reassuring.

She gave me two particularly soft brushes and some xylitol gum. Trident is a market brand of xylitol gum, which helps with your teeth and can make your breath smell better.

The whole purpose of brushing is to disrupt plaque buildup. You don’t need to brush twice a day, every day with toothpaste if you brush correctly- little circles, focusing on near the gums (where most plaque builds up). So if you’re having a bad sensory day and can’t brush at all, it’s not the end of the world.

Hell, you don’t even need a toothbrush if even the post-surgical ones are too harsh. Going over your teeth with the same motions using a washcloth is enough.

She wants to find a fluoride rinse that has a taste I can stand (peppermint is the only mint I can stand) but she’s not particularly worried about it.

I go to Dr. Barr in Chicago. If you can get to the State St. Macy’s, his office is nearby. He’s very kind and patient and really understanding of my needs as an autistic person. The hygienist, I don’t know her name, announced everything she was going to do before she did it, and stopped frequently to see how I was doing.

This is really the only positive dentist I’ve ever had- past dentists have been too rough and not bothered to help find ways I can actually brush.

You only see the best in people, Izaya thinks.

He thinks that Shizuo is naive, that Shizuo is kind-hearted to a fault. He thinks that Shizuo is blind to his bad habits, to his sharp tongue, his cynicism, his manipulative nature. 

Why else would Shizuo stick with him every time he was hurt? Why else would Shizuo refuse to leave even though Izaya, being Izaya, messes everything up?

He probably thinks I don’t mean it, Izaya imagines, probably thinks that I’ll change.

So one day, when they have a huge fight - Shizuo’s hands were spastic from anger and hurt - Izaya tells Shizuo to get out for good and never come back.

He won’t stay, Izaya is sure of it. There’s no end to how much I’ll fuck this up; he can see it now.

Izaya waits, waits for Shizuo to turn around, waits to hear his angry footsteps storm out the door, waits for him to give up.

But it doesn’t come. Shizuo stands silently for a long time, and when he’s calmed down enough, he looks Izaya straight in the eyes.

“I’m not leaving you,” Shizuo states firmly.

“I know you’re not the best person, Izaya… but I chose you— and I’ll keep choosing you no matter what.”

“I’m not leaving, Izaya.”
