IDEA TIME: Can you write a scene where Huntr/x tires to give Celine a fabulous makeover. But they get into a fight because all three have TOTALLY different ideas on what looks good on this woman.
The problem, Celine quickly realizes, is that none of them agree on what "fashionable" means.
It starts innocently enough. "We're giving you a makeover," Zoey announces.
Celine looks up from her book. "Why?"
"Because you're beautiful."
"That doesn't answer my question."
"Because," Rumi cuts in, already carrying an alarming number of shopping bags, "you dress like you're attending a diplomatic summit every time we go somewhere."
"We know," Mira says. "That's why we're intervening."
Celine should have known better than to argue with all three of them at once.
Twenty minutes later, she's sitting in front of the mirror while Zoey holds up a glittery pink jacket. "This."
"No," Mira says immediately.
"Absolutely not," Rumi adds.
Zoey looks offended. "Why?"
"Because she's not a disco ball," Mira says.
Rumi digs through another bag. "I have something better." She produces a sleek black leather jacket.
Mira immediately points at it. "Too predictable."
"What's wrong with black?"
"Nothing. That's the problem. Celine wears black constantly."
"Because black looks good on me."
Zoey gasps. "SHE AGREES WITH ME."
Mira has already moved on, holding up an elegant long beige fog coat. "This."
Celine looks at it. Rumi looks at it. Zoey looks at it.
"It's very Celine," Celine admits.
"Which means it's boring," Rumi says.
Mira slowly turns toward her. "Do you want to fight?"
"I think we're already fighting."
Zoey is delighted. "This is the best day of my life."
An hour later, the bedroom looks like a clothing boutique store exploded. There are clothes everywhere, shoes on the floor, makeup scattered across the vanity, and three completely different mood boards pulled up on three different phones.
Celine is still sitting in the middle of it all. Finally, she looks at the three of them. "Can I ask what we're actually trying to accomplish?"
Zoey: "Make you look hot."
Rumi: "Make you look cool."
Mira: "Make you look elegant."
"...Can't I be all three?"
The room goes completely silent.
Zoey slowly lowers the pink jacket.
They all turn toward Celine.
Celine smiles. "Exactly."
And somehow, twenty minutes later, they've accidentally created the most devastating outfit any of them have ever seen.
Rumi stares. Mira stares. Zoey's jaw drops.
Celine looks in the mirror. "...I like it."
Rumi: "We're never letting her dress herself again."
Celine sighs. "I regret letting you do this."
"No, you don't," all three say simultaneously.
