KPDH AU where a young Rumi gets kidnapped by Gwi-Ma. I'm imagining somewhere between 10 and 15. So old enough to have memories of Celine raising (and more importantly caring for and loving) her, but nowhere near old enough to get out of this situation.
Obviously, Celine is devastated. How could she let this happen? She promised Miyeong she would look out for Rumi, and she failed.
Now, while Celine wants nothing more to dive into the demon realm and rescue Rumi, the rational part of her brain knows she would most likely die. (I would love to make her strong enough to pull a Doomslayer on Gwi-Ma and his demons, but this isn't that kind of story.) If she dies, she leaves the world without any hunters. So she compartmentalizes (not healthy but what are you gonna do) and sets about training the next generation, with the goal of both turning the Honmoon gold as well as saving Rumi.
Because that's the other thing she knows. Celine rationalizes that Gwi-Ma wouldn't go through the trouble of kidnapping Rumi if he didn't plan to keep her alive. If he wanted Rumi dead, he would have just had his demons kill her. But he didn't. So Celine reasons that Gwi-Ma has plans to use Rumi’s status as both hunter and demon to create a servant with unimaginable power. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your perspective), she's right.
Celine recruits Mira and Zoey, training them to hunt the demons that bare patterns. But in every lesson about patterns, every lesson about demons, every lesson about being a hunter, she tells them about Rumi. About the girl with patterns, the girl who is both demon and hunter, the girl she lost and would do anything to get back.
Their first encounter goes poorly for both sides. Rumi no longer looks human on top of being a decade older than she was in all the pictures that Mira and Zoey have seen. So neither of them recognize her. On the other hand, Rumi can smell Celine’s scent (demons have a really good sense of smell) on them, and it sets her off. Gwi-Ma has been telling her for years that Celine never cared for her, that Celine replaced her, that Celine hated her, and seeing two hunters trained by Celine basically confirms it.
Eventually, Mira and Zoey finish training, and the world is introduced to the K-pop duo of Huntr/x. And coincidentally, Gwi-Ma is finally ready to send his most prized soldier onto the field. A demon whose voice can cut through the Honmoon. A hunter who takes souls from humans to give to her master. A girl who has all but forgotten the stories of the mother who birthed her, and the love of the mother who raised her.
Needless to say, all three walk away from the fight severely injured, with Mira and Zoey wondering what happened to make a demon that bloodthirsty. They bring it up to Celine, who is concerned and offers to join them on their next hunt to help. (She doesn't know it was Rumi they fought cause Mira and Zoey unintentionally didn't give her enough details on the demon to piece it together.)
Mira and Zoey protest, stating that they're more than capable of handling one demon. They're fully trained hunters, after all. Celine counters with the argument that hunters usually operate in threes, and they're short one. Mira gets annoyed because "since moment one, it's been 'Rumi this, Rumi that,' and she's probably fucking dead so I don't know why you keep insisting on bringing her up." Celine obviously doesn't take this very well and orders them to get out. After they do, she breaks down in tears because what if Mira’s right? What if Rumi is dead?
For the next several months, Mira and Zoey keep running into this demon. They never outright lose any of the fights, but it gets very fucking close a few times. At best, they're walking away with scrapes and scratches that will be a nightmare for the make-up department to hide. At worst, one of them will be out of commission for a week due to near fatal injuries.
After a few too many close calls, Mira and Zoey realize that if they want to take this demon down, they'll need a third hunter. So they call Celine and (after Mira begrudgingly apologizes) ask her to join them. She does, and they head out to confront the demon that's been causing so much trouble.
Of course, Celine recognizes Rumi. How could she not? That's her daughter. The girl she raised. The girl she loved as her own even if they didn't share blood. On the other hand, Rumi also recognizes Celine. But after years of having her worst fears repeated over and over in her head, about how Celine abandoned her, how Celine didn't lover her, how Celine would rather she died, and seeing those fears seemingly confirmed as Celine is now working with the hunters who have been trying to kill Rumi, all she can do, all she knows how to do, is kill.
Taking a step back and jumping forward a bit, I basically see this ending one of two ways. Either a happy ending or a sad one. In the happy ending, Celine, with Mira and Zoey’s help, is able to pull Rumi from Gwi-Ma's influence, ultimately saving her. In the sad ending, Rumi, in her anger, kills Celine, which snaps her out of her bloodlust long enough for her to hear Celine’s last plea for Rumi to come back to her. Rumi remembers all of Celine’s kindness and compassion and knows that she would never just abandon her. But now it's too late. Rumi goes feral and dives back into the demon realm to confront and kill Gwi-Ma. When she returns, she kneels down and asks Mira and Zoey to kill her, offering herself to their judgment.
God this was a lot. Anyway, if someone wants to do something with this idea, go nuts. I got too much on my plate as it is to start working on another story.
Post canon Celine finally getting to tap into her deep reservoir of "fuck it we ball" energy that she's been keeping locked up deep inside herself since before she even debuted.
Hot take: Any hatred directed at a person, even if the reason for that hatred is valid, can eventually turn into bigotry if not kept in check.
Public hatred of a person will always invite people who also hate that person, regardless of the reason, to join you in your shared hatred. And if the people joining you hate that person due to bigotry, it can be very easy to fall into the same mindset as them if you're not careful.
Your hatred of a woman will be propped up by misogynists. Your hatred of a black person will be propped up by racists. Your hatred of a queer person will be propped up by homophobes. Just because you have what you perceive to be a valid reason to hate that person does not mean that the people who agree with you will share that reason.
Always look at the people who are agreeing with you and, if necessary, distance yourself before you start agreeing with them. Your hatred is not immune to being bigoted, regardless of the reason for that hatred.
My favorite type of Celine is where in private she's all "no Rumi, I am not your mother, please do not call me that" cause she doesn't believe she's worthy of that title meanwhile in public if anyone talks shit about Rumi she's instantly like "hey! That's my fuckin kid asshole" and beats the shit out of them.

This is either a hot take or something that everyone else figured out months ago that I'm only now realizing, but terms like "amab" and "afab" serve zero purpose.
Tell me, what does someone gain by knowing what gender you were assigned at birth? How is their understanding of you deepened by knowing what the doctor said when they looked at you after you were born? I'd argue, nothing.
I'll use the easiest example for why agab terms are pointless first. Someone who is non-binary usually uses the pronouns they and them. In doing so, they have separated themselves from the gender binary. So, to ask that person what their agab is would be to drag them back into the gender binary they seek to separate from. Asking "Are you amab or afab" is no different than asking, "But what's your actual gender?" The only difference is that one uses more "progressive" language.
I'll even take it a step further and argue that the binary enforced by agab terms limits not just queer people, but cis people as well. To pull from my own experience, I am someone who was assigned male at birth. I am also someone who currently identifies as male. And those two facts are not connected. I am not male because someone assigned that label to me. I am male because that is the gender I am most comfortable identifying with. I am more comfortable with myself and my identity because it is a label I chose for myself, not one I was given by others.
And I want to be clear, I'm not trying to argue that I am in some way part of the trans community despite being cis. I am arguing that attaching afab or amab to one's gender identity, no matter what that identity is, is limiting. It simply places everyone back into the two boxes that the trans and queer community have been trying to break out of for decades.
You can identify with the gender you were given, or you can identify with something entirely separate, but that should be your choice. Whatever you are should be a choice, not an assignment.
I have a desperate need to write a KPDH fic where Miyeong, Celine, Thirdlight, and Rumi’s dad all raise Rumi together just so I can do that joke where Rumi gets really annoyed at something, yells "MOTHERFUCKER," and her dad, Thirdlight, and Celine all pop out from different places in the house like "you called?"
Me during my job's bi-yearly shift bid: "I'd like to work this shift that gives me these specific days off."
My job: "Ok, sounds good."
Me: "Alright, now I can plan things for those days since I know I'll have them off."
My job, two weeks later: "Actually, due to staffing shortages, we need every PM employee to work a mandatory extra shift on one of their days off for the entire summer."
Me: "Could we change how we arrange shifts or hire more employees to fix this problem?"
My job: "Lol no. That's too much work, and we don't have the budget for more employees."
Me: "But we have the budget for scheduled overtime on our days off?"

That painful feeling you get when someone makes a vaugepost along the lines of "we all know that one thing that sucks" and all of the replies are things you like.
My favorite bit in Polytrix fanfics is when Zoey does one of her infodumps, except you can clearly tell that the thing she's infodumping about is something that the author is also very passionate about so on top of the classic "Rumira think Zoey infodumping is hot" bit that shows up in almost every Polytrix fanfic, you also get a dash of author wish fulfillment with the author's love of a specific subject being praised by two very hot women.
Polytrix (or probably just Rumi) set to the song I Do Adore by Mindy Glendhill, where it's just then gushing about how much they love each other, how smitten with each other they are, how happy they feel when there with eachother.
Look, I will fully admit that the DnD ruleset has its flaws. I understand that the simplicity of its ideas can, at times, be to its detriment.
That being said, I have not managed to come away from a single Rolling With Difficulty oneshot that didn't leave me scratching my head in confusion trying to understand the rules.

Highschool AU Mira set to the song Water Fountain by Alec Benjamin as she mourns not being able to provide the safety and security that her girls needed, watching them turn to others who can, wishing she could have been enough for her girls.
