trust is good, trust is okay
There are different sorts of trust. For example, there are people you could trust enough to talk to them about pretty much anything that is going on in your mind, I guess. I find it hard to avoid filtering my words or thoughts to someone new I met or just haven't gotten to know. I am not a "fake" person and try to keep a genuine character, but I am prone to not speak my thoughts in fear of the person judging me solely off their first impression. That aspect of trust is me counting on a person to not misunderstand my words, I suppose. Then, there is a sort of trust where you let a person cut your hair that you've been growing out since like, well, the 6th grade. A week and a half ago, I trusted a woman in the salon to cut my almost down to waist length hair. The week before that, one of my good friends, Samantha, offered to cut my hair collarbone length short the way hers was. Now that I think of it, it is kind of alarming that I rather trust a woman I have just met to cut my hair, than trusting a friend I've known since I was five years old. No fear, though, I came out of the salon pretty fine and satisfied with my new haircut, and Samantha understood my hesitance to allow her to cut it.
Frequently, I hear people say the words "I can't trust anybody." I also hear teenage boys utter the overused statement "These hoes ain't loyal." Okay, teenage boys, we understand how much trust and loyalty actually means to you in a relationship, (scarcely), but let's not use derogatory terms while referring to girls, alright? Anyways, the more I grow up and become aware of my surroundings, I begin to realize that trust is essentially a thing we all should have for at least one person in our life. It's a nice and reassuring feeling to have a good friend, right? Being able to trust that friend, (or in my case, hair stylist), is a pretty similar feeling. I mean, I'm not trying to imply that you should trust just anyone with your life or anything like that. It is just that maybe giving people chances to gain your trust is a healthy and cool thing to do. Trust is a matter that is one of the few bases to maintaining relationships, especially with your parents or significant other. Trust is good, but sometimes giving someone too much of it could make relationships unsteady. But if a friend seems to give you a certain amount of trust, like confiding secrets in you, it's always nice to give the same amount of trust in return. That's only if you are comfortable, of course. I think trust should be a balance. If trust is a significant "feature" in a relationship, balanced trust between two people could keep them on the same page.- See more at: http://igloozine.com/article.php?id=108#sthash.f5uQgUnT.dpuf
Sea by Rowen Cox-Rubien
The way the sea ripples
Like the movement of worn skin
Miles of gentle wrinkles
Time brushed her hand along,
The sea and man akin
The sea breaks and heals lithely
No blood flows from slices in the swells
Collections of aqua, indigo and ivory
Dance among the shells
And the sky is in the water
Luminous pathways from bright rays
No human skin holds the honor
Of setting golden light ablaze
And the sea can swallow whole
Masses of steel and cement colossal
Silently sinking forgotten soul
Greatness falls to fossil
Still, I have seen human skin
Withstand heavy souls within
And I have seen the human sky
Reflected in the empyrean eye
So although I may float on the salty waves
I may submerge in the aquamarine caves
My bones will return to the sea evermore
Joining those other flooded skeletons;
Souls live in shells along the shore
For humans turn into the sea.

How Do You Use Your Words?
See what Emily Dombrovskaya says about our vocabulary over time.
Girl Rising is a global campaign for girls’ education, using the power of storytelling to share the simple truth that educating girls can transform societies. A 2013 film was released under the same name and tells the stories of 9 girls living in 9 countries. I have grown up in a world where education has been readily available to me, so when I got the chance to sit down and talk with Girl Rising’s Campaign Director Samantha Wright and Grassroots Partnerships Manager Laura Roberts about the education of girls globally, I took it as quickly as I possibly could.

We received this submission last night through a "serial-killer-y method of communication" as the writer wanted to remain 100% anonymous. A thank you to whoever the writer is because the whole point of the Igloo is to give teens a voice and that can only happen when people are willing to be so open, even if it is anonymously.Â
In the words of our Creative Director, Emily Dombrovskaya, "it's so teenage and sad and true, and i just want to tell that person that we love them". We love you, anon!
