It’s so crazy that someone you love dying just turns into one humiliation ritual after another. Constantly explaining to people that they died. Filling out endless paperwork for years after. Phone call after phone call to organize what to do with the body and funeral arrangements. God forbid they died suddenly or didn’t have an ironclad will or it turns into even more of a bureaucratic nightmare. On top of it all, everything associated with dying is the most expensive things on planet earth. And through it all, if the grief doesn’t feel constantly suffocating, it creeps up on you at the worst moments until you’re pulled over on the side of the road, crying. And you’re expected to be back to normal a week later.
took a 10 day vacation in seattle that overlapped with the first two tuesdays of july! but we're back and better than ever, i had a wonderful time :3

last two the vampire lestat episodes and behind the scenes stuff as well. not gonna lie gang, i don't think it's good! i enjoyed the season in a junk food kind of way but i do not anticipate paying for amc+ when the next season comes out like i did for this one. the music was fun and good but besides that it was not nearly as strong or compelling as iwtv was.

i've had an old dress forever and ever that i haven't been able to wear because the elastic sewn into the back was all stretched out so i finally finished picking out all the old busted elastic and sewed some scrap fabric on in channels to thread new elastic through. i need more elastic BUT it's wearable again! yay!
rem pillow sewing project! i will never ever play deadlock but those characters were made in a lab to appeal to me specifically. just a normal star but i'm doing it with cute night sky themed fabrics to channel the pillow that that lil goblin guy carries

GREAT sourdough loaf success. however it's a little flat on top because i don't have a dutch oven so i put a baking tray over the top of the loaf as directed for the first bit of baking and it. well. did continue to rise. and just pressed up against the baking tray lol. but it's delicious so i'm happy

The really unfortunate thing about mental health progress is that sometimes you realize you've made it in the form of "wow, I haven't felt this bad in a fucking while"
On the one hand it's a bit of a pick me up in a dark place to know that this will pass because it has passed before on the other hand sometimes it isn't entirely a pleasant thought to go "wow, I used to feel like this all the time. That was pretty fucking bad. It's pretty bad right now too also."

5. what's your favourite piece of furniture and where did you get it?
all my furniture is cheap and fuckass and was acquired with the specific purpose to be sold/left behind when i finish grad school EXCEPT my one beautiful side table. i got it at an estate sale my first year of grad school. i was able to find the exact guy online so here is a picture of it. it's just so cool. it's not very large and it Will be coming with me wherever i go next; right now i have a jewelry box sat on top of it and more jewelry/accessories in the drawers/cabinet as my little decoration station.
14. what's a hobby you'd like to get into?
the siren song of bookbinding beckons. i'd like to learn the trombone. i'm slowly dipping my toes into sourdough. i am also doing my first quilting project rn. in terms of hobbies that i have literally never touched, i would like to try tablet weaving and stained glass :3
23. what's the coolest place you've visited?
this is hard because i've been lucky to travel to a handful of places! my south korea and japan trip are definitely up there in general, but more specifically, my partner's grandparents live in a small town in south korea and that was Very special to visit, really gorgeous landscape, did a big hike up to an incredibly old buddhist monastery. i was also just at mount rainier and that was so fucking cool.
