I get that nonbinary characters are characters but they're still nonbinary. No amount of "As a cis person" will change the character's gender. Plus, you can't play the "different localizations change the character's gender" as a monolingual English speaker because the pronouns of a character in French don't change their gender.

Second, I feel like whites, and nbs genuinely believe this simply because they try to push the fact that Black people are more homophobic/ lack any care for the concept of individuals existing in such a way because of the way they tend to masculinize black people as a whole by default, even down to the women, and children (misogynoir, hypermasculinization, adultification, etc).

They view our women, and even children as “threats,” in their minds, and we’re viewed as more dominant, and angry for no reason other than pure, old fashioned racism. What makes you view Black people specifically as more hateful when bigotry can be found throughout every community equally??? What makes these people believe that their communities are more accepting of queer people, and that black people would be more safe around them when they hate us so bad as is 🫡?

It’s just funny that white and nbs conveniently forget that black LGBTq ppl even exist when they want to run their mouths about what goes on in OUR communities, but be too scared to look a cashier in the eyes.

I hate to be That Guy™️ but please don't "pirate it all"???

there are a lot of media that is not considered by institutions to be worthy of archival space, and that include a lot of marginalized stories and things like direct-to-TV movies, soap opera magazines, basically anything that teen girls are excited about, etc. HOWEVER!!!! artists need to eat and pay rent and have silly little hobbies. knowing you stole their work so that future generations will be able to enjoy it won't feed them or the future generations of their own family.

I get the impulse. it is admirable and reactionary to reasonable societal conditions. but if you wanna continue to have art to pirate and be concerned about their preservation, you gotta make sure the artists are around to make the stuff you're fighting to save.

different medias have different methods of paying the artists and authors, etc., but remember that pirating something from a place like Disney is probably not as significant to the artist's bottom line as if you pirate an indie movie that just debuted at TIFF. but also. think of which of those is more likely to be saved, either by the company or by your fellow pirate radio anarchists.

the likelihood of preservation is inverse to the likelihood that pirating it is going to hurt the actual people that made it.
