Hogwarts' Headcanon

During the Golden Age of Piracy, it was not uncommon for there to be ships of magic wielding pirates. This was particularly the case after the signing and enforcement of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy in 1689 and 1692 when the seas were the only place where it could not be not properly enforced.

There is an infinite library in the Alps that contains at least one copy (or original) of every magical and non magical book, scroll, journal etc ever written. While anyone can visit, it is considered the greatest honour for a magical scholar to be invited to work there. 

The werewolf virus, while harmless to muggles, reacts with the magic in a witch or wizard’s blood and causes a build up of a unique toxin throughout their body, particularly just under the skin. When activated by enough moonlight (approximately 0.2 lux brightness) the toxin breaks down, causing the person to shift into a werewolf in the process. 

The witch or wizard will remain in wolf form until the toxin is fully broken down - normally between five and ten hours - or until the sunlight, being of a different magical frequency, puts an abrupt stop to the process. 

The toxin takes a while to build up, roughly a month, before there is enough of it in the body to react to the moonlight and begin to break down. The more of the toxin in the body, the less moonlight is needed to begin the transformation.

That, is a question I cannot answer, but if anyone does know, please let me know. My guess is that it would depend on whereabouts on the moon surface they are (dark or light side) and how much reflected moonlight they are getting hit with. 

The organizers (mostly older students) do everything from helping members decide if they want to transition, to teaching charms to help combat dysphoria.

I have done the Hogwarts and Ilvermorny sortings on Pottermore(Slytherin and Horned Serpent- not sure how I managed to get both snakes, but such is life). Although I won’t know for certain until all eleven schools are revealed, based on geographical location I would most likely attend Hogwarts (if the Harry Potter world was real and I was fortunate enough to be gifted with magic).
