In my mind the Good King in his efforts to raise Raven after her mother was imprisoned, her gave her far more of an expected childhood and early teen years of a princess and future Queen of their domain.

Yes when her mother was in power everything was so harsh and sharp and cold and while the colour palette never changed, the textures did.

This room I’m thinking of was definitely Ravens room when she would sleep at his dad’s side of the castle and when her mother was convicted, she just never left her dad’s side of the castle.

Her instruments have their own place in her room, and much like many a royal girl she has upholstered couches and a coffee table, like I’m talking her room is rlly big. Like, 20 feet by 20 feet?

Drapes, lace, rugs, velvet, silks, ruffles, tassels. You name it. Best thing about it is it’s a decent sized castle with generations worth of history, all of this stuff was readily available for her to do with as she pleased.

And whilst it is dark bc of the stone the castle is built from, it’s soft. She has her posters up all over her wall, some even are on her ceiling where it slopes. She has fairy lights over her desk and window seat. There are soft coloured and touch blankets and dressing gowns on her couches, fuzzy slippers always at the ready.

Her bedsheets are seasonal in fabric but always at least lilac in colour, her bed frame has a skirt full of ruffles.

When she was younger her dad would come in and sing her lullabies, sometimes read a book and fall asleep right next to her on the bed, waking up with his little princess on top of him. He doesn’t come by as often when she’s home from Ever After High, giving her space to destress and do summer break homework.

When he does come in though, he always makes sure to bring a peace offering of some type of drink Cook made.

There’s a short foyer to get to her room, and the side opposite her large window seat is a large alcove for her bathroom, lion footed bath and all. It’s not here the lone mirror in her room lives though.

Nah, the one mirror she does have is by her front door, it looks like it’s a thin cabinet, behind the doors is a completely metal mirror that is resistant to enchantments. Worries of glass mirror based magic being some way her mother could use to get out and control her again was something that made a younger Raven so afraid the Good King commissioned it for her.

Ravens paranoia of mirrors meant she didn’t get a mirror phone until she was set to go off to boarding school so she could talk to her dad. Even then, she doesn’t sleep unless it’s either face down or in a drawer.

Back to her room decor; her first dorm at boarding school with Maddie definitely got to be decorated similar to her room at home, Maddie and her got to know each other during the decorating process of helping each other. And yes, this is supposed to make it more of a shock when Apple ‘decorated’ her side of the room for her, bc how it’s described in the books, Apple, what the fuck are you doing girl?

Ravens decor tastes have been graduating from what her mother forced the whole castle to look like into her own vibe and then suddenly ‘her side’ of the room just looks like what home used to.

And in the au Raven does get to redoing her side of the dorm most definitely, and when Apple comes in after Raven, Cedar, Cerise, Maddie and Hunter have been helping Raven get it done quick, to say she’s shocked at how soft it looks is an understatement. It’s still purple but barely anything is that harsh glossy black, they even took the finish off the bedframe, sealed it and while the wood is still dark it looks like wood again.

I’m of the thought that first years bring a whole bunch of bedding from home and are meant to reuse it every year with bringing a spare set for when one is being cleaned, so Raven had already brought her own supplies for decorating. So another part of the reason Raven is so rightfully upset is she thought Apple had thrown away her things that reminded her of the version of how she actually liked.

This lazy lion beastman right here, as much as he respects women, will fully appraise you with all he's got— discreetly. You know, to not make a woman uncomfortable. Be it in bed, during cuddles, standing or doing ANYTHING, this man will find ways to worship your body. He'll pull you close by the waist and wrap his tail around your wrist, wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you flush against himself. Then, he'll kiss you till you're breathless.

Leona will also find your chest and lap to be two of the most comfortable places to lay his head on. During cuddles? He'll lay on your chest. When you're trying to complete your tasks, he'll simply lay on your lap.

On the occasion when he isn't napping, he'll play with your hair. He'll just run his hands through it, sometimes braid two thin pieces to mirror his own hairstyle, tie a braid or simply wrap it in his hands if it's super long.

Mostly, it's you who plays with his hair. You braid it, tie it up, tie a man-bun, or just attach flowers in his hair to tease him until he pounces on you.

Ruggie Bucchi:

This sly hyena beastman will unabashedly ogle at you. Every time. Eyes to the lips, then to the neck, chest, waist, hips, legs, and repeat. When you both are walking, he'll discreetly slip in a few touches to your arms, waist and shoulders to tease you. Of course, he respects women as well, and wouldn't want you to be uncomfortable. Though, it's super difficult for him to hold back on certain occasions.

Ruggie loves your waist. He'll find any reason to wrap his arm around it, be it to pull you close or simply annoy you. He can't help it, you're just so irresistible and cute. Sometimes, he'll wrap his arm around your waist and use his signature magic to make you do the same, and then he'll teasingly twirl you in a medieval waltz. Cheesy, I know.

Another thing Ruggie loves is sharing his food with you. He's used to doing this, but with you? It's a sensation. He'll sometimes lie with his silver tongue about there being "only one donut at the store" or "one drink available", just so he can share it with you. It makes him feel happy.

Jack Howl:

We all know that the "intimidating" and muscular wolf beastman is just a total darling in actuality. He respects women too much to make a direct move on you, but he'll steal occasional glances and gazes. Sometimes, when he thinks you're not looking. Though! Sometimes, Jack can get quite bold. So much so that he pins you against the wall to steal an intense kiss.

He'll buy you his favourite pear compote and turn tomato red when he sees you using his spoon. So dang cute. An indirect kiss!? Hell, yeah. During cuddles, he'll let you lay on his arm and stroke your hair until you sleep. Then, he'll lay close to your chest to fall asleep to the sound of your calm, rhythmatic heartbeats.

Something Jack finds irresistible about you are your hips. His hands fit perfectly on them. When you're walking with him, he'll occasionally wrap his arm close to your hips to pull you closer, and while both of you nap together, he'll lock his arms around your hips to secure you against him.

Well, I'm back on my Ever After High/Interior Design horse again.

During the series we did see a few of the characters' dorms. Seeing how Raven and Apple are the main protagonists of the series we saw their dorm room more than others, but we never saw Raven's true side of the dorm.

I wanted to give my opinion on how I think her dorm would look like had Apple never touched it.
