i wonder what it would be like if the big dragons we see onscreen like the red death and bewilderbeasts could control human minds as well as dragon ones, i.e. maybe the reason nobody can find the red death amidst the fog of helheim's gate is that the red death is influencing humans away, like how the beserker bewilderbeast does to dragons. maybe you have a dynamic where valka knows she's working for a god, and drago has done the unthinkable and subjugated a god to his mind.

i am thinking of perhaps writing something about this. i am wondering particularly as to how the bewilderbeasts might use their ability to manipulate humans as proxies for their own whims. being so large they're not particularly mobile and easy to spot; but a dragon + rider can carry out their bidding further afield, and far less conspicuously too.

I appreciate that even if you choose to spare Shroud you still get to beat the absolute shit out of him <3
