Last episode of Arrow in 2017… Oh, time really flies!

I’m not saying this because Olicity basically got married, again, but I think this episode was pretty perfect (especially after the disappointment of 6x07). I think It was one of the best episodes of this season. Sure, it was different from the other midseason finales, less “physical surprises”, but it had a pretty good balance between action, suspense, mystery and a REALLY surprising ending!

Last night I was talking with @almondblossomme about the villains of this season, and I kept saying: I want to see some real evil on the show, we basically saw nothing about the villains, so, I’m getting bored. Rola, with all wisdom said: ”Be careful what you wish you“. Well, Rola, I got my wish and more!! I GOT ALL THE VILLAINS! YAY!!

Olicity… Such precious moments… And FINALLY! 

I said last season, the wedding was going to happen during 6x09, and I’m so glad we had those happy moments, even if Felicity didn’t have her honeymoon…

Now random thoughts:

- Hello intro with GA Oliver! How I missed that!

- The intro went from I pronounce husband and wife to Diggle’s with his open arms. *grin*

- Cute Queens moments!! Such precious moment. And, we now know a tiny detail about little Oliver and little Thea. 

- Awww, Oliver was worried about Felicity not being there…

- Thea and Donna are a little “upset” they weren’t in the wedding.

- Hugs to everybody given by Oliver Queen! No problems with hugs to Arrow PEOPLE!

- Omg… When Oliver sees Felicity… What a beautiful moment! The song, Felicity looking back to him… Perfect!

- Oliver’s expressions when everybody starts clapping their kiss. Priceless!! Diggle totally started the clapping.

- SO CUTE!! Everybody dancing!! Thea and William! Quentin and Dinah! Diggle!

- Quentin melted my heart… Such lovely moment… Another hug!

- The cake scene. That smile looks so genuine.

- ”AT LAST“ - Good choice for first dance! We finally got a dance!!

- Rene and Thea… Hell no!!

- Felicity jinxed it… Happy moment interrupted.

- Ohhh, a newbie testified against Oliver. The betrayal!! Yap, Oliver,again…

- Can I say Oliver looked extra handsome? And, Olicity looked sooo good.

- Stop hurting Thea Queen!

- Hello angry Oliver!! We had plenty of that version during the episode. LOVE IT!

-I loved Felicity on the field! And, she slapped Curtis!!! OMG, BEST PART EVER!! Poor Felicity she just wanted to go on her honeymoon.

- Oliver “mission impossible” Queen! Great moment!

- More angry Oliver! Rene did it…

- Thea is the wise one, now? I take it.

- I’m totally with Oliver. Bye Rene.

- Oh, everybody left the team… I’m not sad about it. The team is too big for my taste since season 5.

- Curtis too!

- THAT ENDING!!! 

- But, no one thought about the bugs on the bunker, for real?

- Oh boy, OTA is in trouble… All the bad guys, together against OTA?

Just two observations, now:

Rene and Oliver. And, the newbies.

Even, if I get why Rene did it, especially because Oliver also kind of did it. He lied because of William. Just like Rene lied because of his daughter. Also, Oliver left the team because of William, to be there 100% for him, Rene did almost the same. He put his daughter ahead of team. But, Oliver just left the team, he didn’t screwed a team member to do it. That’s why I get Oliver, and I think the best decision was to make Rene go. And, we can’t forget Everlyn already betrayed the team. Oliver is so done.

About the spy the team part… Sure, if sucked for the team, they felt betrayed but, the newbies were the only options. Felicity wasn’t going to put her NEW husband in jail. And Diggle, come on… OTA, sticks together.  So, the newbies were the only options.

OTA and Olicity:

Oliver voiced his decision, but Felicity and Diggle didn’t exactly shared their opinions, but after 6 years together, I think Oliver also knows what they think. I don’t doubt Oliver’s decision was the same of Felicity and Diggle. Plus, Oliver and Felicity looked even more connected than ever. I bet her decision matched with Olivers.

Silly questions, now:

- If Thea went home alone, just with Quentin to check if she was safe. No one took William to give the newlyweds a private honeymoon? Come on!

- Also, is Felicity a Smoak or a Queen, now?!?!

Tagging:

The wedding was just so very lovely.  After such a long journey it was so delightful to see Oliver and Felicity have such a wonderful day.

As I was watching those first few  minutes of 609, all the heart eyes and love, all the dancing and touching, all the affirmations of happiness that Oliver and Felicity lavished on each other—I felt as if I was watching poetry come alive.

I also felt that those moments were a huge gift, a gift denied over the years by so much sadness and loss and unspoken desire between our newlyweds. The path they traveled to get where we saw them last night was at times torturous and craven, filled with dark obstacles and near fatal outcomes, with a level of heartache that could destroy worlds.

The pure joy I saw on Oliver and Felicity’s faces made everything they’ve lived through for the past six years seem like it happened to another couple. Yet there was a constant back then, a bedrock that kept their hope alive and breathing. It was love. It was always there. Even when they tried to deny it, when other influences tried to derail their trajectory and threaten to pull them apart; the strength and depth of that love was a gravitational force keeping them locked in each other’s orbits.

I guess to a certain extent, 609 was like watching two different people. They were a couple who are completely into each other, consuming but in a good way.  They have crashed through all the walls they built, side-stepped all the angsty projectiles they aimed at one another, dismissed their belief that a happy ending was not possible for them. They share an exclusive secret now, one that only two people who are immersed in true love can ever know.

There was a special sparkle to them last night. Myself and others have written throughout the series that they possess an inner light, each one strong by itself. But now that they have come together to stay that way, that light has become lambent and magical. It is contagious. Everyone around them could see it. It wasn’t overpowering or harmful like looking directly at the sun.  It was illuminating. It was an evanescence that lit up the room. It was a light shining on a world that is lacking at times in warmth and purity, a world that can benefit by its life-giving reach, to make things grow and flourish and create beauty.

There wasn’t any particular moment for me that stood out from others. In those first ten minutes of 609, it was the surety that Olicity would always be happy and content in their lives together. It felt comfortable and right. It felt like home. I felt that Oliver and Felicity had set an example, that they were the blueprint for building a life together. It was them touching their humanity as if reaching out to catch a falling star, a crown jewel representing family and tradition and legacy.

I was inspired. Every time they smiled at each other, every time they looked into each other eyes and saw the fire of passion and love like an eternal conflagration, I could only sit back and hold myself still, embrace them as if they were there together for my enjoyment alone. I could share in the depth of two souls reaching out to one another like a happy dream that will always come true. Their buoyancy will always bring them to the surface, to the top of the world.

It brings out the very best romantic in me—hopeful and hopeless. It brings out my own poetry, comprised by the inertia of creativity. I can write these lines with flair and celebratory zeal. And I am a better person for it.

I am not filled with disappointment or hate or short-sidedness, as some people have interpreted the Olicity relationship.

I am filled with awe that such beauty still exists in this uncertain journey called life.  This is the motion of poetry and I gently move with it.
