Did you miss me?

LOL.

It's been nearly two years since I posted.

The last post was about a dog we had tried to adopt, only for him to be a foster failure AKA he was adopted by his foster.

That sad day had a different ending though.

At the time we had gotten the call to adopt Pepper, we had also put in an application on a little 2 year old mixed breed named Nuke. We called the rescue and asked to halt the application process on him, and while disappointed because they were about to call us and let us know that we were approved to adopt Nuke, the worker understood.

Long story short, Pepper was adopted by his foster. We were nearly to the shelter and were hurt that the rug had been pulled out from under us.

To make it worse, it seemed as though we had lost adorable little Nuke, since we pulled out of the adoption in progress.

We decided to give that place a call. To see if Nuke was still adoptable. He was. We finalized his adoption and he was brought to us that very evening.

We changed his name to Rusty, because he has a reddish orange coat color and because he was a mischievous little dog.

We will have Rusty for 2 years on the 12th of November. It was a pretty rough beginning, he was a handful. But after about two and a half months, he calmed down.

That's when we decided to adopt again. My husband wanted to adopt another Papillon, like Oreo. We decided to go through a pap dedicated rescue.

We settled on a four year old female. She has such a gorgeous tricolor coat. They called her Gingersnap, but her foster told us her name was Gracie. We loved that name, we kept her name Gracie. We also imported her from Minnesota.

These two dogs are my loves. I think Oreo wanted us to adopt again.

Rusty is a sweet, empathetic dog who loves giving kisses and playing with Gracie. He's still mischievous pup with the softest ever coat.
