seeing "protect the action figures" as a response to "Protect the dolls" is maybe the most insulting thing I've ever seen, to both trans men and trans women.
First of all, the term "protect them dolls" exists because trans women, and especially trans women of color, are killed disproportionally. you are literally "all lives matter"-ing this. Secondly, can we stop this stupid fucking trend of giving gay/trans men the worse version of something that already exists for women?
I still remember having to explain to a lesbian that the term sapphic comes from a real poet who was a lesbian and had droves of love poems about women and is so influential her home is what lesbians are named after and "acheillian" comes from a guy from a story who might've fucked his friend.

i think nathan was also missing a society that didn’t let him do kinda whatever without any consequences yk. like his father just paid people’s mouths shut so nathan could basically live without any real world consequences, until jefferson came along.
i do agree that rehabilitation would’ve helped i just think it’s wrong to say that’s all he needed to become a better person. the system that both hurts and benefits him won’t change between his time inside rehab and out
yeah I agree I don’t think that ALL he needed was proper help. his privilege and prejudice is a big part of his characterization and his power and persona that he pushes to feel in control, and it keeps him out of the places where he would learn the consequences for his behavior.
I don’t think that he’d change only by getting help or only by going to jail. I think he’d change in a 180 of his current circumstances, he needs both accountability, people who actually care about him and proper mental health care. I kinda wish we got more info on exactly what “help” he is receiving, bc it seems like he’s only being medicated which clearly isn’t helping lol
when I make my art and talk about it Im not trying to ignore anything about Nathan that makes him awful, or like. Trying to woobify him or anything. it’s just been 10 years since LiS came out and I’m still seeing the leftover demonization of certain parts of victimhood and mental illness that have been bothering me forever…. plus as an alter those are the parts that resonate with me because I’m not a perfect reflection of him; I’m not a misogynistic physically aggressive white man so I don’t have a lot of a basis to talk about that more than what I know from canon and real life lol. idk if this makes sense
