Cruel Intentions (1999) dr. Roger Kumble
ïœïœïœïœïœïœ ïŒOPEN TO ANYONE ( @capritownstarters ) ïœïœïœ ïœïœ : somewhere near the main stage / or anywhere tbh, after the conan gray stage
the last remnants of glitter had cascaded from the top of cheekbones, leaving faint, shimmering trails of sparkles streaming down her cheeks, fleck still clinging to patches of skin. it might have passed as an intentional choice, perhaps an euphoric dab of whimsy across her  face, were it not for the dark stream made up of tears and kajal which faded into her face, leaving her with shadows.Â
the reason why she insisted on going alone slowly began to unfold. alya had been crying, if not and more embarrassing screaming and sobbing to conan grayâs vodka cranberry only moments ago. now she was desperately hunting for a tissue, anything to erase any evidence of her former emotional display.
â excuse me.â she asked the other, her voice still sore and cracked. â do you have a tissue ? my friend âŠÂ she was really going through it during conan grayâs set .â
her eyes widen slightly, startled by the sudden presence of another human being crying near her. as the worst possible type of avoidant, nikki wasn't fond of big or sincere displays of emotion; although, from a more humanitarian perspective, she could understand their appeal. she just preferred it when people expressed their emotions away from her.
she makes some room in the curb for the other girl and shoots her a brief, tight-lipped smile.
still, there wasn't much more she could do besides grapple with the contents inside her ecobag to find pathetic remains of makeup remover tissue. with a genuine look on her face, nikki's hand reaches out to her, a bit embarrassed by her lack of preparation in these rites of passage in girlhood.
â  you think this will do? â a pause, an awkward stare. â  you know, if it makes you feel better, we can always set his dumpster on fire and call the cops on him. works everytime. â

hands  resting  casually  in  tailored  chino,  head  roaming  around  the  compact  stand,  and  he  has  to  wonder  when  did  he  become  so  foolish  that  he  was  standing  to  see  a  damn  psychic.  or  was  she  a  tarot  card  reader?  he  didn't  even  fully  know  what  she  did,  probably  both  and  didn't  get  either  right,  only  bending  through  the  curtains  based  off  rumors.  â  no  ex,  and  no  hex,  â  flat  voice  replies,  lips  up  -  ticking  which  is  the  only  thing  human  in  what  resembles  a  robot,  â  huh,  that  rhymed.  â  yeah,  he's  officially  lost  it.  fucking  hell,  he  never  thought  he'd  be  here.  not  this  exact  booth,  but  more  so  this  situation.  he  should  kill  his  sister  for  putting  the  thought  in  his  head.  but  desperate  measures,  and  all  that.  clears  his  throat,  scratches  above  his  brow.  â  how  does  all  this  that's  so  raven  meets  now  you  see  me  thing  work?  â
nikki squints her eyes slightly at him -- she bites her tongue before it gets the best of her, although the gleam of sarcasm is still evident in her eyes. she has, once again, to remind herself that most people are not at all familiar with this. and that most of them are either too simple minded to believe it or too skeptical to care. she couldn't quite pinpoint where her visitor fell. maybe somewhere in between.
as she fidgets and shuffles her cards, she maintains her gaze fixed on her tarot deck on the table, spreading them out as for him to choose. â   not too familiar with it, are we?   â she stares him up, resting her hands on the table and taking in a deep breath, more so for patience than focus.
â  here's how this is gonna work,  â her demeanor shifts to something more serious, less personal. â   pick three of the cards. don't turn them until i say so.  â   nikki nods.  â   you might find it accurate. you might not. if you don't, that's cool - i won't charge you this time.  â   a smirk grows quietly on her lips, motioning for him to pick the cards.
it was rare, elodie felt like, to find someone who enjoyed the festival to an extant. but in that moment, she feels like her and june are on the same wavelength. she loved music, but the festival was a little much for her -- walking from on side to the other, rushing through crowds just to maybe hear a song or two she likes was all too much for the younger whitmore. " i absolutely agree with you. " she shakes her head and sighs as she walks with the other. " i think he'd be more grateful if you had paid full price to watch him during a proper concert on his tour. " she laughs a little. " although i must admit, some of his songs are incredibly done. "
june sighs briefly, pausing to stare at the crowd as she listens to elodie. â  well,  â she dangles with her keys and chuckles at the blonde's words. â  i hope the weeknd and the fancy tourists get the hell out of capri soon,  â she realizes it sounds a little more bitter than usual and then, turns back to elodie. â  what do you say we go for a movie night? i got a bunch of dvd's from a yard sale last week. â  her eyes widen, clearly much more excited for an in movie night than she should be. â  we can have some pizza on our way out.  âÂ
at first he doesn't know what she's asking. philosophically? as a concept? as a cultural touchstone? it isn't until he looks into her equally confused expression that he realizes she's never heard of vance joy. instinctively, felix's hands go up to mime an invisible ukulele. â vance joy ? â as if saying the name again will ring a few more bells. â the riptide guy ? â what are the chances the movie âyesterdayâ is his real life but it's about vance joy instead of the beatles?
â okay, okay, fine. riptide guy does nothing for me but, i'm glad you white boys have some nice music to listen to, â  she doesn't mean for it to sound so condescending and yet - it kind of does.  in an immediate attempt to repair what was said, june takes a step closer and places her hands on his forearm lightly. â sorry, â  she nods.  â i'm just so sick of artists i have not heard a single time before.  am i getting old?  â  her brows furrow in genuine concern, but you can find a trace of a smile forming on her lips.
â â” âș㠀㠀㠀㠀㠀TIPPING THE PLASTIC CUP TO FINISH THE LAST BIT of the pineapple mango concoction, Isara clicks his tongue in feigned annoyance before he shoots June a playful glare. âAnd here I am, hoping weâd go on until three in the morning. Ah. . .â There isnât the slightest bit of malice in his words and from the obvious quirk of his lips. âAnd you know what they say too, once a party animal, always a party animal.â That was clearly an exaggeration as Isara is far from one. âHmm. . . Do you think we could stop by somewhere else for a light snack before we head home then?âÂ
âËàż àš Âș . ° ৠjune gives him an earnest stare before falling into a graceless sigh. â i don't know why i bother saying no to people,  â she rolls her eyes - at herself, mostly. â we can stay if and only if we can have some banoffee pie later. and i'm gonna need some coffee to stay up, deal?  â she offers him her pinky finger, in a childish but sincere attempt to hold her end of the bargain. â also, i'm driving! no drunks on the steering wheel allowed.  â
@capritownstarters / solemare festival.
open to anyone. feel free to assume connections. not capping.
âËàż àš Âș . ° ৠâ helloooo,  â her voice shoots from behind the curtains. maybe renting out a tiny kiosk for the solemare festival hadn't been such a bad idea. she had gotten multiple weird requests, sure ( the guy offering fifty bucks to hex his ex had surely been a handful ), but it was entertaining. most of the clients wanted a breakdown of their love lives or, worse, a past life. those were always the gloomiest. for some reason, everyone always thought they were cleopatra in a past life.
â how can i help ya tonight? Â â nikki appears from behind the velvet curtains, asking mindlessly as she doesn't take note of whoever's in front of her. â please keep in mind i don't hex anyone and no, your ex is probably not coming back. sheesh. Â â

biography.
warnings for: bullying, parental neglect & death.
what can you say? you have always been the odd one out, born under a full moon on a friday the 13th. itâs like the joke practically wrote itself. even as you laugh about it now, you can still remember your big brothers calling you a werewolf.Â
for the longest time, you were sure youâd become one. maybe it wouldâve better than handling the bullies at school relentlessly taunting you, laughing at your bunny smile and your weird antics. sure, maybe you did eat glue once or twice, but was that all there was ever going to be to you? weird kid, nothing more?
your family didnât really listen. you see, they were busy with three tenacious little boys, full time jobs and a growing resentment for each other. so, you endured. endured until you couldnât. untilÂ
you came home with clenched fists, crying eyes and bubblegum to your hair.Â
that same week, your parents got divorced. a pang of guilt stuck with you since. maybe you were doomed? maybe you were cursed with some sort of infinite bad luck and now, now it was passing onto everyone you ever loved.Â
the separation was messy, messier than the fifteen year old marriage. dad took the boys, mom took you - until you begged to live with your grandmother in italy. it was far, it was different and most importantly, it was new. but it would be yours.
leaving seoul for capri is not quite an usual feat. yet grandma took you in, a scared twelve year old who felt destined for chaos. there was a weird sort of understanding between you two. she didnât question your weirdness and, in turn, your didnât question her rules. at least for the most part, until you turned sixteen and the sweet temptation of sneaking out was too strong to bear.
life was good, life was sunny and for the first time, you didnât feel cursed. you had friends, a beaming high school crush and even acceptable grades for your school. once you graduated, grandma got you a beaten down car and an expensive tarot deck for all your witchy pursuits. having someone to believe in you always gets you wondering how long itâll take them to be disappointed. thatâs just how you are; a natural pessimist, a servant of the fates where every bad card feels like a promise.
she fell ill when you were twenty. there wasnât much you could do, and that was the worst part. how could you not see it coming? how could you not take destiny by its hands and force it to your will? no crystal ball, no oracle, no card ever saved her.Â
youâve become skeptical, bitter even. even as you struggle to understand the threads of fate, you still want to believe in it. in the magic and the hope of it all. the wheels of fortune have to shift in your favor again, right?
headcanons.
she's a little too sarcastic, makes a lot of jokes about her bad luck constantly, but flinches slightly when someone agrees with her.
struggles a lot with relationships because she's waiting for the moment she'll infect someone with their chaos. tends to sabotage good things without meaning to.
has learned to weaponize being the weird kid now, leaning into it as armor.
still has the car her grandma gave to her. it's falling apart but she genuinely refuses to get rid of it, much like the first tarot deck her grandma gave her. she only uses it for special readings or occasions.
is a really good liar. picked it up from years of just being the daughter who didn't really give much trouble.
cannot have pets for the life of her, because she gets too attached when they eventually pass away or become sick. it's very troubling for her. she maintains plants instead, has a green thumb which she got from her grandma.
very particular about her coffee and tea. doesn't really let anyone brew it or make anything for her because she hates troubling others and follows a very specific recipe for it.
the keys dangle in june's hand, entirely too pleased with herself about it, and val's brain short - circuits for a second trying to process the audacity. she blinks once. twice. three times, just to make sure she's seeing this correctly. â obviously ? â her hand comes up, flat, like she can physically hold the suggestion back from reaching her. â june. june, we cannot leave ! zara larsson hasn't even gone on yet, do you understand what you're asking of me right now ? â she doesn't even wait for a response before continuing, already spiraling into the injustice of it all, because she did not survive three tourists stepping on her foot and a stranger's beer sloshing directly onto her sandal just to leave before the actual point of tonight. â i will not survive missing her live. i will simply cease to exist. do you want that weighing on your consciousness ? â
âËàż àš Âș . ° ৠshe cannot resist a good old guilt trip. it reminded her of those warm, sunny days in puerto rico, when her cousins would practically beg on their knees for a third spoonful of sugar in their lemonade. june wasn't very good at saying no to things which she deemed cute - one of them being valentina.
â okay, okay. say no more. we're staying for you and zara larsson, â she nods frantically, nearly spilling the rest of her water bottle.
â but i do need something to drink. remind me not to ever have a shrimp burger again, mkay? that was awful. the city's worst burger award goes to... â
felix laurent exists in the extremes; when he's an introverted mood, you can't get him to leave his bedroom, but when he's already all dressed up and out of the house . . . he keeps a straight face, but you can see his lips jut out ever-so-slightly in disappointment. it's not a pout - felix laurent would never pout - but it has the bare bones of one. â you don't want to stay for vance joy ? â he keeps his voice as neutral as possible. so he loves white boy music. so he went to malcolm todd yesterday and is going to noah kahan tomorrow. so sue him.
âËàż àš Âș . ° ৠyou can find a hint of embarrassment in her eyes, wholeheartedly unsure if a) vance joy is a band, b) vance joy is a man or c) something else altogether. despite finding it hard to be truthful - for some reason, june seemed to have completely fallen out of the loop lately - she proceeds with a dry swallow and a slightly timid demeanor.
â what is, vance joy, after all? Â â her shoulders slouch, nearly defeated by such a pathetic question.
" not at all. " the brit says with a smile as she follows the other. truthfully, she's been waiting to go home. she's been at the festival so early to the point where she wasn't even enjoying the music anymore, and that's not like elodie. " i am not quite sure that's what they say. " a rather playful look on her face as she lets out a chuckle. " regardless, today has been over for me hours ago. "
âËàż àš Âș . ° ৠâ thank god for people who just get it,  â june rolls her eyes in a dramatic fair, headed towards the parking lot with gaze fixed on the blonde. a smirk plays on her lips, admitting to her confession like a sin. â i was getting a little tired of acting like i knew all the songs.  â
then, a sudden snort escapes her. â do you think the weeknd will forgive me if i'm not interested in hearing him whine about women & illicit substances? Â â maybe it was the goody - two shoes in her, but something about the forbidden aspects of all his songs, mixed with the corny yearning made her want to vomit.
ââ @capritownstarters ââ where: solemare festival ââ when: tuesday evening, 7pm; ââ who: open to anyone
âËàż àš đ.° ৠâ are you going to be too upset at me if i suggest going home early?  â she looks happy, excited even. flashing the other her car keys, june raises her eyebrows giddily. â you know what they say, once a homebody. always a homebody.  â that was not in fact, what they said. but she didn't mind. she was sick of the beer - piss - firework smell. and the people, of course.

" okay so, uhm... " she was keeping her hands a safe distance away from the rest of her body. she had not touched her phone in two hours. the phone was relatively uncontaminated. " i don't know if i can wait for shawn mendes. i haven't found soap anywhere and all of the hand sanitizers i've touched have been empty ! " the last word was nearly screamed, a very faint sob escaped feyza. " i feel so dirty, it is not funny. not funny. this is like the definition of ' eww '. and i very rarely deem something eww. "
âËàż àš đ.° ৠââââ in genuine concern, june's brows furrow slightly. as a self - identified germaphobe, she knew just how yucky festivals could be; and fun as they were, the amount of stinky men per square meter would often deter her from enjoying anything else.
" god no, i'm so sorry! i have hand sanitizer on me, if you'd like? " her demeanor lightens, smiling softly as she points to the small backpack she's carrying.
