So Marisi just became my favorite Naya commander by far after proving how well he can choke hold your opponentsā combat and how much of a genuine problem he is.
My deck was built with a revolution theme. Weāre going to use our opponentsā plays, resources, and turn them into value for ourselves and lead the revolutionās charge through their streets. We want to ensure Marisi gets triggered on our opponents because one trigger will leave them open for a while. Weāre doing this by going wide, tilting combat in our favor, and removing their blockers.
I had a LOT of success generating tokens with these three here. Reacting off your opponentsā plays or lack of plays makes consistent value around the board. Dragon Broodmother is a other creature token generator who becomes stronger with more opponents. We let their plays fuel our cause. Pollenbright Wings is also another stellar card because the saprolings come to you no matter what is enchanted, so throwint it on their Ulamog gets us 10 saprolings every goaded strike.
We want to curve combat to our advantage to get swings in. Battleshaper benches blockers that would harm your creatures. Iroas is the MVP making your creatures harder to block AND blocked creatures wonāt die in combat. Siege Behemoth is stellar all around, letting us pick and choose our damage ensuring goad triggers go through no matter how they block.
Lastly we want to liberate our opponentās loyal creatures and have them join the revolution. What makes Marisi stand out from other combat centric commanders is he forces your opponents from casting spells in combat. That means you can start your precombat phase and cast Act of Aggression without counterspells slinging this way and that.
Marisi will also choke opponents out of traditional combat tricks. Fog, Mandate of Peace, Ride Down, Deflecting Palm, Aetherize, C Rift, Safe Passage, Angel of the Dire Hour, Archangel Avacyn, Rootborn Defenses, Heroic Intervention, all canāt be used during combat while YOU CAN use these. Its incredible and if you havenāt looked into building him you absolutely should.
Letās not let my friend who plays this deck see this post *hides it away*
Itās easy to have the devotion for mogis if you copy all their stuff
That is very true! Haha And with a Volrath copy, Mask copy, and progenitor mimic copy, that alone is 6 of the 7 needed devotion
I got kicked out of my local game night because I ran Volrath turned him into a mogis god of slaughter equiped helm of the host and then made progenitor mimic into a copy of the non legendary token mogis :( didnāt even get to try the infect
Did you have the black devotion to keep Mogis a creature? Not saying itās not possible! But that part just blew my mind hahaĀ
But on a more serious note I mean... if your table canāt collectively deal with an army of indestructible Gods of Slaughter, are they even trying?? They sound salty to me. You managed an incredible feat using an opponents own card against them. Iād applaud that and deff keep you in mind as a threat the next game. You have my Home-Brewd Seal of Approval!!
I made a clone deck helmed by volrath the shapestealer and I had space left so I hid a ninja deck inside it but I could use some combos
If youāre looking for cool combos, Iām not sure in the way of ninja decks, but Iāve been contemplating a Volrath deck myself and hereās a few things Iāve come across :)Ā
My deck has a counters main theme and an infect sub theme. The goal is to slip a small bit of infect into an opponent, multiple opponents if able, on the down low. This can be done with a Blighted Agent, or an Invisible Stalker with Phyresis or Tainted Strike. If youāre feeling a bit bold, an Ichor Rat is a great way to get a poison counter on everyone in one go. Once everyone has a counter, commence the end game...
Combo One: Vigean Incubation Combo
This one requires so set up, but the pieces can fly under the radar in some play groups. Youāll need a Vigean Graftmage, an Incubation Druid with a +1/+1 counter on it (if played after the Graftmage, you could graft a counter onto the Druid for this), and a Viral Drake.1) Tap the Druid for 3 blue mana, then use 2 of that blue mana to activate Graftmageās ability and untap the Druid. Youāll have 1 blue mana left after this.2) Repeat this process until you have a surplus of blue mana, preferably 40ish.Ā 3) Sink all the mana into the Viral Drake, proliferating the Poison counter on each opponent until theyāre dead.Ā
Combo Two: Precious Pets Combo
For this combo, youāll need Yawgmoth, Hapatra, Nest of Scarabs and Obelisk Spider on the field. Iād highly recommend holding Yawgmoth in your hand until you're ready to combo off, as he can start it at instant speed upon entering the battlefield.Ā 1) Put a -1/-1 counter on a creature. You can use Volrath for this with his triggered ability or sacrifice a token or fodder creature to Yawgmothās first ability. This -1/-1 counter will trigger Nest, Hapatra and Spider, creating a snake token, an insect token, and having each opponent lose a life and you gain a life.Ā 2) Sacrifice one of the tokens to Yawgmoth and pay 1 life to put a -1/-1 counter on the other token. This will draw you a card, create another snake and insect token, and cause each opponent to lose 1 life and youāll gain 1 life.Ā 3) Repeat this process, until each opponent is bled dry.Ā But be warned, this combo causes you to draw cards and it is not a may ability.Ā Ā
I hope these combos helped you out a little bit! <3 Not sure if it is what youāre looking for, but itās something Iāve been working on for a little while. I appreciate the asks!Ā

How to Lose Friends Fast: Pariahās Plate
Tired of dying to combat damage? Does your deck just not have enoughĀ āfogā type effects/spells? Well boy do I have a card combination for you! Presenting to the Brewdlings: the Pariahās Plate!
For those who havenāt gotten the combo, letās break it down! Equip the Darksteel Plate to a creature to make it indestructible, then equip the Pariahās Plate to the indestructible creature. Whenever we would take damage, the Pariahās Shield will divert that damage to the Darksteel equipped indestructible creature.
Now we can equip these two cards to any random creature and just buffer our life with it, but where is the fun in that?? I think we need to add a bit of spice to the mix!
Punish your opponents for attacking you by suiting up a Truefire Captain, Boros Reckoner or Spitemare with the Pariahās Plate. A real āWhy you hittinā yourself?ā moment when the Nekusar deck makes you draw a metric butt-ton of cards and then THEY are the ones taking the damage from the draws.Ā
Create a small but gradually growing army whenever an opponent tries to beat your face in. In the case of Hornet Nest, you get an actual swarm of flying deathtouchers.
With the introduction of Ixalan, we received a new mechanic in the form of Enrage, which I find works really well with the Pariahās Plate. Speaking of enrage, letās use this as a seg-way into the next part of this post, how to abuse the Pariahās Plate:
Cacopho-Spewer:
Equip the Cacophodon with the Pariahās Plate, then tap the Spear Spewer to deal 1 damage to each player. Pariahās Shield will deflect the damage we would take back to the Cacophodon and then trigger its enrage ability, untapping the Spear Spewer. You can also replace the Spear Spewer with a Hidetsugu if you really want to go for the dramatic kill and draw immediate attention to yourself!
The Nekusar Slayer:
Equip the Ripjaw Raptor with the Pariahās Plate and cast Arcbond on the Raptor. Whenever we would draw a card, if Nekusar is out under an opponentās control, we take one damage, redirected to the Raptor, dealing one damage to everyone and drawing a card, redirecting the damage back to the Raptor, dealing one damage to everyone and drawing a card, and rinse and repeat. We could essentially draw ourselves out to death since there is noĀ āmayā on RipjawĀ but weāre gonna lay on the hurt to that darn Wheel-n-Deal monster while we do it!Ā
Itās a Trap!:
Nearly impossible to remove once fully equipped with the Pariahās Shield and Darksteel Plate. Hexproof, indestructible AND it takes all the damage that would ever be dealt to you but doesnāt die. As long as the Pariahās Plated Angler Turtle is in play, you essentially cannot die and all your opponents will have to tap out each turn to attack you, leaving you wide open for the back swing. My FAVORITE use of this combo by far. Definitely an all star.
HEROES NEVER DIE!!:
Along the lines of Angler Turtle, hexproof and indestructible are nearly impossible to get around outside of sacrifice type effects. Sigarda, Host of Herons just eliminates that factor, adding a whole new level of protection to your impenetrable fortress.Ā
What Doesnāt Kill Me⦠Probably Kills You:
Equip the Wall of Hope with the Pariahās Plate and then enchant it with Spiteful Shadows. Whenever we take any damage, that damage will be redirected to the Wall of Hope, gaining us that much life, and then triggering Spiteful Shadows since the Wall took damage, dealing that much damage back to us again, looping the damage and life gain until we have a large enough pool of life to use an Aetherflux Reservoir to pay 50 life at instant speed to deal 50 damage to any creature or player⦠preferably an opponent. If the Reservoir is destroyed and we have no way to stop the combo we will end the game in a stalemate as there is noĀ āmayā abilities on the cards. We will gain infinite life.Ā
A parting thought on the Pariahās Plate. This card combo is incredibly fun to assemble and use but I encourage moderation and protection. While the equipped creature will be indestructible, it can easily be removed with exile and bounce effects. Having a Swiftfoot Boots or Lightning Greaves in play before hand is always encouraged as the hexproof and shroud add another line of defense to the combo.Ā Ā Some commanders I could really see abusing this strategy besides Sigarda, Host of Herons are Thantis, the War Weaver, Tajic Blade of the Legion, Sapling of Colfenor and any of the Amonkhet Gods.Ā
With Vigilance, Reach, and Indestructible from the Darksteel Plate, Thantis will be a complete boss unit as it forces your opponents to tap out into it, growing itself for the backswing while you safely take no damage.Ā
For the last three I mentioned (Sapling, Tajic and the Amonkhet Gods), they donāt really need a Darksteel Plate as they themselves have indestructible. Running a Pariahās Shield in any of these decks would be a definite improvement to help stall out the game a bit as your opponent tries to figure out a way to deal with the damage lock.Ā
Dank-Jank Combos: Bounty of the Keen-Eyed
After a long, long hiatus from the platform, I thought my firstĀ āIām BACK!ā post should be nothing short of spectacular! So hereās my newest infinite mana combo... In mono-green.Ā
The Pieces
The Combo
Letās break it down! (with mana count at the end of each step to help you keep track) Start with Nylea, Keen-Eyed on the field with Karametraās Acolyte and Temur Sabertooth. 1) Tap the Acolyte for four green mana. (4 green mana) 2) Use two of the green mana to cast a Hyrax Tower Scout at reduced cost from Nyleaās static ability. On etb, target and untap the Acolyte. (2 green mana) 3) Tap the Acolyte for five green mana. (7 green mana) 4) Using two of the green mana, activate Temur Sabertooth, bouncing the Scout back to hand. (5 green mana) 5) Using two more green mana, recast the Scout, targeting Acolyte on etb. (3 green mana) 6) Tap the Acolyte for five green mana. (8 green mana) 7) Use four green mana to bounce and replay the Hyrax Tower Scout, untapping the Acolyte. (4 green mana)
If youāre keeping track, each looping of the Hyrax Tower Scout and tapping/untapping Karametraās Acolyte will net us one green mana. With this, we can use Nylea, Keen-Eyedās ability to filter thru our deck for the creatures we want and cast them.Ā
With enough excess mana, you can cast and bounce a Craterhoof an excessive amount of times-...
... -or destroy all your opponentsā noncreature permanents. The choices are yours!Ā
āYou still think about those stories that scared you when you were little, from time to time.ā (Instagram)
Oh my god. This is so cool.

Womenās March to Versailles (1789)
women: we want HER, we want the austrian bitch to come to the balcony
marie antoinette:
Canāt stop watching this hilarious gif
Yāall know when Mulan is sitting in the rain and watches her parents silhouette disappear as the candle is blown out and then her eyes squint in determination and the music that starts to play and you see her go into the family temple and light a match and bow in respect and then sneak into her parents room and switch the scroll for her hair brooch and then the way her reflection is shown as she pulls the sword and cuts her hair?? Itās literally more iconic than any marvel movie
Yāall know that there is heavy symbolism in that scene to show that Mulan isĀ the spirit of the Great Stone Dragon and thatās why Mushu wasnāt able to awaken it?
im sorry What!! i never knew this! my life feels fuller!!! ahhhh
Mulan sits in the rain underneath the statue of the Great Stone Dragon (who is looking down on her), and suddenly decides on a course of action. She looks up, resolved to go to war in place of her father and runs into the temple where she lights the match and beseeches protection for her family. The stone she bows to and that we see lit up by lightening strike is that of the dragon, whose eyes are looking out after her, lit from underneath by the candles. The scene transitions to the divider in the house that also has an icon of the dragon. where she replaces her hair comb with the summons. Then we see the sword hilt, also the dragon, and as she draws the blade we see her face replace it. She ties up her hair, then as she opens the wardrobe, the handles are also the dragon. After donning the armor, the view shows her facing us, with the hilt of the sword (the face of the dragon) in front of her face, where she then turns the sword to reveal her face, and sheaths it. As she leaves, we flash back to the temple, and the eyes of the dragon flash as her grandmother wakes up.
The Great Stone Dragon resides within her. She is the protector of the family.
After this explanation, the scene where Mushu cannot wake up the stone dragon makes so much more sense. I appreciate the symbolism so much more. I noticed the dragon but didnāt notice she was constantly juxtaposed with the dragon!
Canon accepted.
