Avon is trying SO hard to alienate the others by hiding what he's doing and goes to pretty extreme lengths to try and stop them coming after him....but they do it anyway? Just because they care, no matter how much he threatens and insults them? Because as they patiently tried to explain, they're willing to go along with him whatever it is, they just want some answers? God.

Even Servalan guesses he probably just kept the crew out of it in an attempt to protect them all, which of course didn't work, because Avon can pretend he's immune to sentiment all he likes, but he can't stop his friends caring enough to follow him into a likely trap.

And sure enough, when they find out they fell for Servalan's bait hook, line and sinker, they're all understandably angry with Avon....but they're still in this together. As Tarrant says, they all lost. They've come way too far to back out now. Avon essentially admits it was his mistake, and they'll forgive him because that's what friends do.

It's also a great setup for Dorian's line to Avon in the next episode: I don't expect you to admit it, but you belong to them, just as they belong to you. Something we've known from subtext for three seasons already, but it really hits different hearing it said out loud after Terminal.
