cause it very much didnt seem like Kai was keen on throwing away his boys initially. Like he actively hid Natsuki's body b/c he'd knew they'd be upset about it and might have forced his hand. And when he transformed into that devil pupa thing he very much needed help getting to where he needed to be for his plans given he was more or less immobile.

Like he was very much like fuck their friends, their friends are dinner/a power up. But he had just a sliver of chill with the guys. And maybe I'm just too optimistic and wanting better than what we got for the boys but like...I wanna believe
