I mean. I can’t complain too much can I? I’ve been told by many friends that I’m rarely ever subtle so… this is right up my alley, I guess! I’m not, at all, denying how much I’ve enjoyed the trip so screw being subtle. Oh, nice! Weddings are fun. I love going to them. So I’ve heard! Bayview seems like the place for me. I love fun and excitement. It’s all so new and I’m thrilled to venture out more when we return. He’s a Maltipoo! A little pup but the best pup. Heya, Tom! It’s great to meet you. I assume you’re on the trip, too? Are you enjoying yourself? 

It’s a wonderful trait to have in our acting world, Lucy. Don’t you let that little spark go. Is that so? Tell me, what has caught your eye, where have you gone, what have you done? Gotta cram everything I have yet to do into the next two days just in case, seems like you’ve had quite the time. Oh, it is! So much hustling and bustling at all times even for such a small town -- you won’t get bored, that’s certain. Maltipoo! Goodness, he sounds like a precious little thing. I am indeed, yes! It’s been quite lovely getting out here, breathing in the fresh air -- even if the air’s quite fresh in Bayview, there’s a certain je ne sais quoi about the quality here, really can’t get enough of just... breathing it in, you know? 

So, if you were wondering where Bayview’s infamous cat lady went, I had to leave town for some family matters, but it’s nothing to worry about, I promise! I do feel bad for leaving on such short notice, though. Trust me, packing a bag for Nashville in less than thirty minutes was chaos. However, now that I’m back in town, tell me the hottest gossip. What happened while I was gone? If nothing too exciting happened, tell me your current favorite TV show. I’ve just binged the newest Netflix show called ‘Say I Do’ and I must say that I’m still a sucker for a good love story. I’m Taylor, by the way! 

Do my eyes deceive me? Is that indeed Bayview’s infamous cat lady or are you in a skin suit that has the face of someone I used to know? Long time no see, Miss Swift. Hope you’re doing wonderfully and your family is, as well. There’s been new productions, weddings, engagements, gossip blog freakouts, the lot. Don’t reckon I was awake for most of it, mind you, because hermitting is an absolute full-time job, but you know, I heard they happened. Is that another one of the reality shows Netflix’s been rolling out? I’m still debating whether or not I want to commit to Too Hot To Handle or if I want to finally give in and go down the Bachelor rabbit hole, frankly, but I’m not entirely certain either one of them promises a good love story. Just in case you’re in a skin suit, though, hi. I’m Tom.

I wanted my move to be subtle… to be a small thing but when I arrived, the talks of a vacation popped up and, well, here I am. How am I one to deny such a luxury? Elvis wasn’t too happy when I dropped him off at the doggy daycare, but I promise, he’ll love it and he’ll love not being stuck with me any longer than he has to. They gave you absolutely no choice in whether you wanted to make a grand entrance, hm? Bayview does you like that sometimes. First few weekends here and winded up at a wedding, actually. Holy cow, I don’t know about anyone else – but I really needed this trip! I’ve been out of work for a bit, and when I’m not working, apparently I turn into a bit of a hermit. I swear, even my dog Billie was getting sick of me. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery, in my case I’m getting both, first a semi permanent one and then a hopefully permanent one. So come on, share! What’s some of the things you’ve gotten into since being here? What do I have to go check out? What should we check out together? You and me both, Snow. Did that rhyme? That kind of rhymed, I’m almost proud of that one. But hello, don’t reckon I’ve seen your face about town much yet -- or Billie’s, for that matter! May be because I’m a bit of a hermit myself, though. I’m Tom, big fan. Triple Bridge is an absolute sight to see, and the Central Market has some of the best morning treats to offer if that piques your intrigue. I’ve really just been walking about nonstop, it seems. How has your trip gone, what parts of Lake Bled have called to you?

I will be perfectly honest, I am a sucker for a good view. The resort has a nice view of the castle. A freaking castle–now that’s pretty awesome. How has everyone been enjoying the area so far? Also the food here. Slovenian food is actually really refreshing. Not only is it different, it’s all fresh and simple. I don’t know if I can choose a favorite just yet. But that’s what food tours are for, right?

Just divine, isn’t it? Even the air here’s got a rather distinct quality to it. Wonder if it’s from just how immense the surrounding lakes are, but it’s... refreshing, really, that’s quite a fitting word you’re using there, mate. Absolutely! Making good use of all the walking tours offered around the area and trying to not use up my disposables all at once.

There was something to be said for hearing a familiar accent, a familiar dialect. Something that awakened in you that sense of familiarity, really, that perhaps you hadn’t gotten since making a new country, or in this case continent, your new home. One would think there were plenty of English folk around the Bayview area, and Tom was certain that there might indeed be, but he hadn’t quite gotten the pleasure as much as he’d like. This afternoon would certainly prove different. 

With himself, he’d brought a foiled porcelain container with the chicken tikka, with naan and rice containers atop of it and messenger bag filled with two different bottles of wine. He knocked upon the door with his foot, hands otherwise preoccupied, and chimed in so Jodie would hear. “Postmate delivery for Miss Comer, if you please."

As daylight gave way to dusk, it was right about prompt time for Tom to make good on his promise to the birthday gal. It wasn’t terribly difficult with the both of them living in the downtown area nevertheless, but he figured he’d let her have her day of fun before imposing upon her day. Tom had brought with a specially designed cake, a handful of balloons and a few trinkets in hand encased in a bright pink gift bag, and was knocking upon her door with a smile upon his features. It was never not an honour to get to spend someone’s special day with them, after all, but he figured he ought to thank lucky stars for getting to spend the afternoon with someone who’d quickly become a friend through text exchanges that he hadn’t necessarily quite gotten to know as well as he’d like yet. 

That was the thing in the industry, after all. You could make as many acquaintances as you’d like to claim, but it was rare that you got to sit down with someone and get to know them beyond the formalities, particularly when supposedly loyal to such opposing enterprises. Nevertheless, this was as good a day as any to do so. 

My birthday is exactly a week away and all I keep hearing is ‘Oh, you’re gonna be 30, but you look great.’ ..and I’m like, am I supposed to start falling apart at 25 and my transformation into an old lady is finally complete as soon as my 30th birthday comes around? I always thought I looked good for my age but I guess not?

Oh, come off it, Mango, you know full well that you’re aging as gracefully as humanly possible, and I’m sure plenty of scientists are ready to back the fact up with evidence. You’ll be forever young with the Aussie genes, as well, just look at the Hemsworths. Also, bright side -- what kind/kinds of cake you having for your big day this year, hm?

Margot: Well, I mean they could. But that’d be pretty dumb of them if they did. I’d like to think they wouldn’t shoot themselves in the foot like that though. I can imagine. You must be unrecognizable to people without it. Marmites great but nothing beats vegemite. Sorry, darling.

Margot: I’d have to say so if it helped your situation much better than water did. I don’t think I could ever see you in pink and blue hair, so I’m kinda glad to have missed out on that. What? Not even a glimpse? Yikes, I don’t know if I should be offended you haven’t seen that amazingness yet. You’re gonna have to get right on that though. You can’t be in the club unless you’ve seen it.

Tom: D'you know what? I'd like to think so, too. It feels a bit too far along to do it now, but you never know with Marvel. I really am, at least recognition isn't quite as big an issue for me as it'd be for, say, you. Even if you do look quite different from Harley. Ah, agree to disagree.

“lucky you, i’m actually easily full. so a few more chips and i’ll be done. and since i’m a light wait, that also goes with drinks.” she shrugged, furrowing her eyebrows at his question, pretending to think about it seriously. “i think he won’t even be subtle about it. his next able might as well be title ‘tom you broke my heart’” she couldn’t help but chuckle at her own joke. “wait - you’re english?! i had no idea.” she pretended to be shock. “you know, even if that didn’t happen, i’ll give you a hit over the head in her honor.” emma winked at him as she laughed. “we? are you having another?” she asked looking over at his drink. “what are you drinking actually?” the red-hair asked curiously as she reached for another chip. “admit it, you’re already regretting sharing your nachos with me.” she raised an eyebrow at him, the hint of a smirk playing on her lips. she definitely enjoyed pushing his buttons, and his positive reactions only encouraged her to continue. 

“am i gonna be carrying you back to your room to make sure you end up safe and sound in your bed, young lady? ‘cause if so...” he trailed off, fingers waggling towards her, brows quirking upwards. “i’m gonna need your key now before i have to hold you over one arm and fish it out with the other, c’mon.” tom sat back in his seat, arm sliding back over the back of her chair, exhaling out a laugh and shaking his head at her words. “tom you broke my heart? you reckon he’d be that straight on about it, start off a verse with ‘thought i was redhead number one in your heart more than just your phone’?” a chuckle eased past his lips, and he nudged the drink on the table towards her. “we is a metaphorical way of speaking, darling. and have a taste. bet you can’t guess what it is.” rum and coke was by no means a revolutionary combination, but nevertheless. he picked out a nacho, chewing it as the familiar coiling sensation ensued, all in thanks to the seemingly endless banter between the pair as a new drink was sat down in front of her, and he thanked the bartender with a short nod. “just as much as you regret sharing that tiramisu with me.”

Charlie: Gonna be honest with you, man. I really can't remember. Comic book films aren't really my thing. I haven't watched the Justice League movie, either. You're probably not missing anything. Haha.

Charlie: Ahh, you heard! Shit, the news is spreading quick around town, isn't it? There's another Hunnam coming into the world, prepare yourselves! Haha, thanks, bro! She'd love baked goods, especially coming from you. She's definitely a fan of yours. What do you say we hang out at the beach, man? We can have a chill evening at the beach and have a drink there. Then we can go back to my place so you can meet Morgana. I wanna have you to myself first. ;)

Tom: To be fair, they weren't mine either until it was my job. You certainly didn't miss out on much, gotta wait for the Snyder cut, man. I'm sure you've seen the talk about that around?

Chris: Hahahahaha. Are you okay if you've been that out of it?? That's great. Then you can show me around??!! Either works for me. I'm flexible with my time right now.

I’m free every day, Tom. Just be ready, the kids love Peppa Pig and they’ll start going wild. What say you to Thursday? You’re just not as broad as the Hemsworths, which I don’t think anyone is on Chris’s level, you’re still rather tall. Oh, spectacularly terrible ones.

Oh, that sounds like a wonderful time, really. Closing out the school year and a Peppa Pig marathon. Are they all still at the age where stuffed animals are quite cute, or are they a bit past that, d’you reckon? Absolutely nowhere near that, although to be fair, I’m still not convinced the bloke’s entirely human. I’m sure they weren’t quite so bad, c’mon now.

Do you tell her what ones to ship you or is it a surprise? Like those subscription boxes you can get monthly and you don’t know whats in them until you open it but it’s usually crap. Don’t be sorry about that, you’re doing Brandon a huge favour because he’s getting paid for you streaming the album rather than listening to it on record and him not knowing about it, unless you venmo him a couple dollars every time you reach for his LP? I did bring them all, you can never have enough shoes. My mom used to say ‘Jennifer, you only have two feet, you can’t wear all these shoes’ and I now see it as a personal challenge to prove her wrong. All the cookies, surprise me but just don’t bring over raisin ones because I get excited thinking those suckers are chocolate chip and then they’re not. Oh yeah, those weird al records are valuable, you should definitely lock those up but I guess if you hear somebody rocking out to amish paradise, you know where they’ve gone. I’m half way done, I got distracted by the beach for a couple days and forgot everything I was doing. I need something to motivate me to carry on, like cookies.

‘S like a box of chocolates, darling. Legitimately never know which ones I’m gunna get because my mum refuses to ever take a request. You know I’ve never signed up for those but was tempted the moment I got into Bayview to do a meal-prep one since I was being a lazy bum? You reckon? I forget that’s the way the music industry functions nowadays. Does that make listening to old school records less profitable for the artist in the long-term, then? Should I keep them as pure decor and put my Spotify to good use on the daily instead? I reckon I manage that enough any time I decide to work out. Oh, but those two feet are made for walking in all those shoes -- how many pairs have you gone through in these couple of weeks you’ve been in town, hm? No raisins one for you, duly noted. I’ll make sure any surprises are good ones. Ah, well, I feel like if they do have enough taste to break in and go for those, they’re in a more deserving home anyway. Yeah? Just in case you’re not quite done yet, I’ll be getting those delivered by you first thing in the morning, Morrison. Sound alright?

You’re taking it out of context. I remembered you exist, only that calling a random Tom when it was supposed to be you didn’t take part in my plans. I’m sorry you felt mistakenly wounded. Give me a break, you’re making me look like the bad guy and I just wanted you to cook me something, preference on Chicken Tikka Masala, and you’re here trying to twist everything. I could change you to something different I guess, like Hiddles, Thiddles, I don’t know. Would that be good in your book? I told you I would be in your doorstep in a hot second, but I hope the chicken isn’t cold by the time I get in there. You made a point, food is the way to their heart… and anyone’s really. I might made a good friend after all this complaining. Oh hey, where’s this camaraderie and english loyalty you were talking about earlier, now? I thought you’d be delighted to be my watchdog. Hiddles Thiddles? D’you reckon that’ll remind you who it is that owes you the Chicken Tikka? You let me know the moment you’re on your way and I’ll make damn sure the meal’s just cooled down enough to be edible by the time you arrive. ‘Course it is, why do you reckon I’m trying to woo you into friendship via food means? There’s no better way so long as you don’t burn their taste buds in the process. While there’s nothing I’d love more, I reckon the actual watchdogs may be quite upset with me if I were to take up their spot guarding your livelihood. Well, you never know, it appears to me you’ve had quite your ups and downs with the dog community as of late, I couldn’t be too sure. How’d you know that’s exactly where I got the name from, hm? Absolutely not because my mum’s a massive Legally Blonde fan, nope. Alright, yes, madame, no need to tell me twice. You let me know when is most convenient for you.

Is… is this the part where you admit that you might be a bit of a bronie yourself, or no? Because I’m not really ready to end our friendship just yet, but I have my limits. But no, I can understand that, I think it’s one of those things that’s best left out of mind, don’t you? I don’t want to judge them for their interests, I just don’t really want to be privy to them! My good friend’s little one is absolutely obsessed with Peppa Pig, she definitely has a huge following! Always exit out as fast as possible, you can’t even risk getting addicted to that particular search. So you end up looking up all of those strange things late at night, too…? It’s the worst time of day to do it, and yet it always ends up happening. I don’t want to think about that, either! Both because you don’t deserve it, and also because the idea of tainted cheese fries suddenly makes me inexplicably sad, that shouldn’t happen. One of my favorite things about summer is the fact that I can cook at home – I  have a grill upstairs and I can throw some hot dogs and kabobs on there and pretend that I’m a chef. That, or we can go to parties where other people cook for us. No, you’re completely right, and I think that makes you an artist, now. Congratulations!

As much as I do appreciate the fanatical devotion of cult followings, I do not personally subscribe to any outside of, frankly, Ari Aster as of late. Not about to break that streak for ponies, colourful as they may be. Quite understandable, yeah. Are they actually? I think I was talking to Nat Dormer about that, since Peppa’s gained quite the reputation on the interwebs for being rude when she’s rang up. Oh, I absolutely do. The amount of conspiracy theories I fall down on the nightly is ridiculous. Doesn’t it? Tainted cheese fries would be one of the worst foods to get ruined, really. What else is going to hit just the spot when you’re at fancy cinemas and venues? All you need for a summer night out in the porch are those hot dogs and kabobs, Gerry, sounds delightful in these humid summer afternoons. Yes, absolutely. Nothing better than not having to cook for yourself, but a grilling’s right up there, isn’t it? You flatter me greatly, y’know, reckon anyone that set sights upon it may disagree, but isn’t that what makes art so intrinsically subjective, anyway?
