Here to say some shit cause YBC supporters/fans are PISSING ME THE FUCK OFF.
You support CP huh? The characters are in a highschool setting and Yuri (one of the many popular characters) IS 16!!!! In the wiki it literally says heâs a second year. If he was a third year and was 18 and having a relationship with another 18 year old this wouldnât be a problem. But the fact this BL is depicting minors having sexual intercourse together is NOT ok.
Do NOT use the manga as an excuse. Even if the characters are old enough in the manga, why cant they be aged up in the anime? Why must the creator (which is a ADULT) make the characters 18+ in the manga if they can also do it in the anime? Thereâs no excuse for that and itâs clear that they used this as a excuse to cover themselves up.
It sucks because the character designs are fucking AMAZING. I LOVE Yuriâs design and his bright pink hair, and I love Tamuraâs bright BLUE hair. But itâs all ruined by how SEXUAL this anime is, are you kidding me?
The amount of Non-Con in the anime is also extremely disgusting. The two boys who just wanted to bond over photography were almost forced to be in this sex club???
And Iâve seen actual people, defending it saying itâs fictional. And that I should focus on real life CP and rape. LIKE MF ARE YOU SLOW? People have invalidated my opinion as a sexual assault/abuse victim and Iâm sick of it. Fantasy can STAY fantasy but it cannot go beyond it, and if youâre against rape and CP then you should be against it if it was fictional aswell. Cause itâs disgusting that people have the mindset to lewd a CHILD character. Draw it for yourself. Not for the whole world to see.
If you didnât know this, and supported the anime before. Now you know.
I donât want to start an argument but Iâll let you know that most fans who read the manga actually despise the anime for how sex focused it is, because it makes ybc look like an all-nsfw no-plot kind of story which is not. What I personally hate the most about it is that the anime made the relationship between a student (Shikatani) and a teacher seem okay while they have in fact cut away the part where the teacher is shown physically abusing him (and in the manga, many chapters later, it is finally revealed that Shikatani is doing that against his will and the other characters help him get the teacher fired).
I donât give a damn about Yuri (I prefer the 3rd Years), but the characters definitely look older than their age, they arenât âminor-codedâ. I think the high school setting was chosen just because it was easier to handle and thatâs basically the most common setting for this kind of stories (I mean Japanese slice of life/romance/rom-con series). But like, there are series where the characters clearly look younger and they get a free pass just because they state theyâre 18 even if itâs clearly a lie. And so, whatâs worse? Giving the characters a âfake younger ageâ just to have it set in a boarding high school like YBC does, or aging up characters that clearly look younger just to avoid trouble? The fact that people canât even tell they are technically minors means that they are meant to look like young adults, and they do. Â
I agree that the non-con thing about them joining the club is bad, but at least it didnât happen for real (itâs mostly used as a plot device to make Kashima confess his feelings for Toono; please compare this to the amount of BLs where actual rape is used as a plot device to make the character confess their feelings instead of using it to avoid a non-con scene) and these things tend to tone down a lot later on in the series. Most of the sex scenes in the manga are consensual and when they arenât, theyâre often implied to be negative rather than positive. I agree that some scenes are problematic and I would absolutely live without them, but most of the manga isnât like that.Â
Iâm sorry about your experiences, I totally respect your wish to despise YBC but please, donât treat at as if itâs the worst thing in the world because the author is actually very good at character and plot writing and if you read between the lines it gets clear that the characters act like this due to traumas and issues they have yet to overcome rather than because itâs fun or edgy. It gets pretty depressing if you read it by caring about the charactersâ emotions rather than the sexual façade they put up.Â
And about Akemi hating women (since someone mentioned it in the notes), itâs true but itâs also implied to be due to his ex (most likely abusive) boyfriend leaving him for a girl. That detail is part of his tragic background. He says he hates women because he still isnât able to fully see his ex as the total garbage he is and for this reason he instinctively directed his frustration to the person who stole him away rather than aknowledging the fact that he was in an abusive relationship.Â
Thanks for handling it well, I just really donât like how it shows sexual intercourse with minors and I will not shake that off. I understand the intent of making them seem older but why cant they BE older. Thatâs my whole problem with it. Even if it calms down as the series continues it shouldnât have been that strong when it started, cause damn that shit caught me off guard???đŚ Anywho, youâre fine I wonât hate you for it. I respect your opinion and for telling me some other aspects of it. But the high school setting and the NSFW just doesnât sit right with me.
Thank you too. I see, thatâs totally fine and understandable. I wish you a good day (^ - ^)đ¸
