Summary: Mateo Diaz and his sister run one of the premiere wedding planning businesses in San Francisco. Despite earning a reputation as a romantic by way of his work, Mateo has never been in a serious relationship before, much less been in love. Convinced love is a mess better dealt with by the dreamers and lovers he plans weddings for, he’s lived his life cleanly by following one simple rule: don’t fall in love. It was easy enough to follow. That is until he met Victoria Javadi- the only woman who’s ever made him hope and dream. Only… Victoria Javadi just so happens to be the bride of the next wedding he’s been hired to plan.

Samira’s mom is getting remarried, and selling her childhood home against her wishes. Trinity and Victoria haven’t recovered from a devastating fight no one knows the details of, and are determined to spend the summer as far apart as possible. And with unconfirmed rumours of an engagement swirling, Emma’s boyfriend is taking her, her grandma, and her three brothers to visit Guadeloupe to meet her deceased mom’s family for the first time. Worried about growing apart from the friends she’s held dear for most of her life, Emma proposes the girls continue their tradition of mailing each other letters and their trusted, shared denim jacket throughout the summer. Though skeptical the jacket has any magic left to share, the girls agree to one last summer of snail mail.

“It feels like waiting for something you know will never come. Like I’m just on a cliff, waiting to fall over or for someone to pull me back and neither happens. I’m frozen on an edge I can’t save myself from.”

“Hmm…” She studies him carefully, watching his throat bob as her eyes roam over his facade. His breath shallows when she watches him in this way, her undivided attention a gift he feels unworthy of. Her constant kindness makes him nervous. “Do you want to be saved?”

He tilts his head down to look at her. “I didn’t. Not until I met you.”

Summary: After the death of his wife, retired lawman Jack Abbot disappeared into the desert in search of death. Instead, vampire Samira Mohan finds him one night and offers him a path towards redemption- help her kill Michael Robinavitch, the man who killed her father, and she will grant him the end he seeks. But what happens when Jack falls in love with Samira, and decides he doesn’t want to part with this world after all?

Well guys!!!! Crashtos College Theater AU is officially DONE! Seven chapters and 121k words later, the fic is finally complete. Thank you so much to everyone who’s been reading, I hope you love the ending.

With that said, and with my summer break around the corner, I want to select my next long writing projects. Per the last poll, you guys said you preferred short (4-6k word) weekly chapter updates over long monthly updates. With that in mind, and the time I’ll have, I would like to write and update two long fics concurrently from May-August. But I need your help deciding which! So here are the options.

Like… I’ve written my fair share of Mohabbot and I am said to lose that potential ship, but ultimately that’s all it was. A potential thing. It was never canon, and I think choosing to take Shawn’s interview answers over the course of the past year as indicative of a promise of canon rather than as what it was (PR fodder for him to build career momentum off of) was not smart of us. And I say us because I bought into it too but I have complicated feelings about it now, and the optics of using an interracial ship and a WOC’s popularity in service of your own career… His answers today, and the very careful way he responded by mostly placing all feelings and thoughts onto Abbot the character instead of himself were very telling to me. idk. It’s not quite a “win” in my mind.

But regardless, I really wish that we would let Supriya’s exit be about Supriya and not the ship and not Shawn. Samira Mohan was and is important without Jack Abbot, and as we mourn the loss of her on the show I think we should remember that. I think it’s a disservice to her and her character to repeatedly post about how we wish Shawn would do X to save it, or we’re upset about losing the romance. Like yes, interracial romances and displaying WOC as desirable IS important, but what’s more important right now is that her story is incomplete. She should be just as important on her own, if that makes sense. (I realize I’m speaking in broad generalities here and perhaps what I see online is not the big picture, so this is just my pov based off of what I have personally seen on my feeds.)

“If you’re saying you’re impressed, then I guess there’s nothing to be embarrassed about,” he replied with a light tone, but his eyes were more hopeful than playful as they searched hers for an answer to the question he hadn’t quite asked aloud.

“There’s nothing to be embarrassed about,” she shyly affirmed, looking away from him as she warmed under his lingering glance. You impress me.

He knocked his knees against hers, and she returned the gesture by playfully nudging his shoulder with her own. They made eye contact once more, laughter bubbling easily between them as they each looked away after a charged second.

Mateo started nervously, “Would you like to grab dinner with-”

“Yes,” Victoria interrupted, turning to look at him with a soft smile, then looking away bashfully, “yes I would.”
