I really love how through Mateo and Victoria’s conversation, we get the sense that they’re real friends. This is the first conversation we’ve seen Victoria have with anyone where she answers earnestly, and jokes back a bit.

Mateo joking about Dr. J means he knows about her TikTok and follows/supports her. And it’s something she’s comfortable sharing with him.

Him joking about where she is in her schooling and how she’ll be “ordering him around” soon indicates they talk frequently about school and how she’s doing.

BONUS: him trying to convince her to join the nightshift means 1) he knows she wants to commit to ER med, and it’s something they’ve discussed before and 2) presumably she values his opinion, otherwise he wouldn’t offer it (because we’ve seen her shut down other people on this topic.)

I think it’s genuinely one of the only ships I actively dislike other than aira x kinta or those involving okarun and Momo with others.

What if the narrative around Krane being in love with Lily was a lie/misunderstanding. What if people thought so because Krane and Lily were just super close friends for all these years, with maybe something going on on his side in the past, but said something either fizzled out or got addressed and worked through. What if the truth is that Krane fell in love not with Lily but the man she brought to the lab one day - a man who, underneath his stoic facade, is so very kind and sweet. What if Krane couldn't resist either the fact that this man is also amazingly strong and skilled in battle or that he's in desperate need of saving or both? What if Krane continued his purification research because he wanted to save more than just the Pokémon Cipher was abusing, to smash the entire organization time and time again until that poor, sweet man could finally claw his way out of the nightmare, to freedom. What if Krane felt this all in secret and hid it well because he didn't want to hurt either his best friend or the man he loved.

What if Krane loved Eldes all along, possibly while going through years of not knowing if he was still alive after contact was cut due to the threat of Cipher rising again. And what if Krane continued to love Eldes and have faith in him, despite him reemerging as a Cipher Admin.

{Spoilers for Dragon Age Veilguard} I was reminded of the "don't make promises you might not keep," conversation today and it got me thinking. This promise was made so short of a time before Rook spent weeks trapped in the Fade. Lucanis must have felt horrible because he was right. They made a promise they couldn't keep. He's lost another person that he loves, someone that was making him feel whole again. Spite can feel things in the Fade, so he knows that Rook's there.

The torture for Lucanis that is Spite shouting about how Rook's in the Fade, and how they might not be able to find Rook no matter how many times Spite assures him that they're still alive. How Lucanis knows that them being alive might be worse depending on what the Fade is doing to them; how he has no real way of knowing. That promise haunts his thoughts, that he almost believed that he wouldn't have to do everything alone anymore. Even though he still has Caterina and Illario, it's not the same. Rook understood him in a way that nobody else had before.
