Human relationships are not transactional but they are reciprocal, which I think many of you with your ‘i don’t owe anyone anything’ shtick are too happy to forget

"do you want to try AI mode?" no. "enable AI tools?" no. "AI search this?" no. "have AI explain this post?" no. "we're excited to announce AI integration!" i'm not. "you can now use AI to—" no. i don't think i will.

the argument goes "AI doesnt create new problems it just massively exacerbates problems that already existed for long before!!" like yeah?? that is also bad??? "machine of heres all your previous problems multiplied by 10000" also not good!! i think the problems multiplying machine is horrible even if all the problems were already here before

yeah people were lying and making bots to post content online and stealing stuff and making things up and plagiarizing and putting out slop and surveilling people and bombing civilians and rejecting insurance claims and exploiting labor thru infernal contracture and wage theft and so on and so on and so on but the fact that with AI you can do all that but a million times more is super fuckin bad idk
