thank you!!! yeah, the fandom is scary sometimes (every single trans Jax comment section makes me want to rip out my hair) but I like to think that I’m helping out, just a little, by not leaving. the negativity is strong in some places, but I like to think that so far I’ve created a space filled with kind people and very little cruelty or malice, and I will try my best to keep it that way as long as I can :)

anyways my ask box is open again. I’m not bringing my normal drawing tools on the trip (I don’t want to lose them) but if you guys ask me any questions about canon tadc, my au (only if they don’t spoil anything), or other aus, I’ll answer! (but without a drawing :( )

i imagine conjuring is very draining for an AI that has had all admin privileges revoked. everybody else is a human; they can separate themselves from the code, in a way. it feels tangible, like a video game save file or a phone's camera roll. to Caine, it's probably more like chopping off all of your limbs and then performing a dissection on them with a pair of prosthetics.

hope the floor spontaneously glitching out isn't indicative of anything important! (why am i making everything important now i'm gonna have to remember all of this stuff later)

also sorry this update came a little late! one of my family members came into town and i wanted to prioritize spending time with her :)

first you must imagine him as the biggest skrunkly possible under his suit (lots of layers = lots of padding = he’s already so small he must be itty bitty)

then give him copious amounts of eye bags, sweat, and the most nervous expression possible and viola! you have turned him into the most sopping wet creature possible

"I did end up figuring out why he has to breathe now. B-basically, when a human enters the circus, their mind is first converted to a "base code," or a form of their brain that is directly converted to code. The base code still forces the person to breathe and eat and sleep, or else the brain code registers the person as dead and deactivates. Once the person enters the circus, their code adapts and loses the code that can let them die, essentially. When Caine was coming back from deletion, his code had to latch onto any template it could, which ended up being the base code.

There's a couple more things, though. His code corrupted a lot during the revival process, of course, but it was still corrupting slowly while he was gone. Which means that whatever happened while he was deleted, he was... likely conscious the entire time.

The other thing that I noticed is that Caine's emotional processor... doesn't have adapting capabilities. Well, it does, but not in the same way that his intelligence does. It's managed to accommodate emotions like joy and anger and sadness, but... nothing past that. We, uh... didn't really expect him to develop any kind of sapience, just sentience. Tomorrow I'm going to transfer those capabilities to his emotional processor, which should help him grow emotionally, kind of like a human can."

don’t get him wrong, he appreciates the gifts! but he also hurt so many people… just because he was stuck in the void for an indeterminate amount of time doesn’t mean you all need to feel bad for him! why don’t you go give your gifts to Pomni, maybe. perhaps Ragatha? even Jax would be better than him. they’re all human, after all. he’s not even real.
