Had this sketch sitting around for YEARS, decided to try to render it a bit.

Like the fear was always that one day Spite might turn Lucanis into a full abomination. Lucanis and Davrin discus the need to put him down if that happens. How much time passes where that is at the back of his mind? Did he think about that at the ossuary? There were other people experimented on there who did fully turn, so he had to be aware that there was a chance of it happening to him too. Was it one of the things keeping him from sleeping at night? Knowing that if he fell asleep Spite would take control, and who knows if letting Spite have control sometimes would make it more likely he would be able to take full control later. People already treat him like an abomination even if he isn't a true one (including his family), but what if he does prove them right that he is a monster now? The constant anxiety about that on top of everything else...

And then the relief of finally coming to terms with it after Rook finds him in his own mind prison and helps him and Spite come to an understanding! What a weight that must have been taken off his shoulders. Yeah, there is still a slim chance it could still happen, but he has his whole life with his lover to plan after defeating the gods. He finally got his shit together!

But being with a mage has its risks. The chantry talks about the danger of mages being seduced by demons of the fade constantly. That is why Circles exist in the first place, why harrowings exist, and mages being turned tranquil. Lucanis has seen it happen before, he has to have with being an assassin specializing in taking out powerful mages. Would he let himself think about that chance for his partner or would it completely catch him off guard when it happens? How would he react? In complete disbelief? Would Spite be able to do something to save them from another demon or are they a lost cause the moment a demon takes them?

i've found my little zone in fandom that i'm comfortable in, but it occurs to me that others are still struggling to find the people who actually enjoy this game! and who talk about it!
