Real talk: I hate when the âpositive vibes onlyâ version of me feels like a performance.
I do believe in good things. I do find joy in tiny moments. But pretending thatâs the whole picture? Thatâs exhausting.
Trauma doesnât clock out because I decided to be uplifting today. It lingers. It triggers. It makes me question if Iâm broken for not being âhealed enoughâ yet.
So if this blog has ever felt like sunshine and rainbows only⌠know that behind the posts there are days I cry in the shower, days I canât get out of bed, days I feel like a fraud for smiling..
We donât have to fix it all right now. We just have to keep showing up, even when itâs messy.
Iâve spent so long being the one who says âit gets betterâ that I forgot itâs okay for me to say âitâs still really fucking hard.â
The positivity isnât fakeâŚ..itâs survival. Itâs me refusing to let the past win every single day.
But refusing to let it win doesnât mean it disappeared.
Some nights it crawls back in, whispers the old lies, makes my body remember what my mind tries to forget.
Iâm tired of pretending the scars donât ache just because Iâve learned to smile anyway.
So hereâs the truth, from the soul:
Iâm grateful for the growth. Iâm proud of how far Iâve come. I am still in pain.
Both can be true.
