KaiShin — GSGW Inspired Concept Part 1
Lately I’ve been reading Got Dropped Into a Ghost Story, Still Gotta Work because TikTok kept throwing it onto my fyp ♡(⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝)
And now I suddenly can’t stop thinking about making a KaiShin version of it ^…^
Honestly, the concept would be SO fun and chaotic. Just imagine Shinichi trying to stay rational while facing horrifying creepypasta-style monsters with distorted smiles, hollow eyes, and bodies that move in impossible ways, meanwhile Kaito somehow keeps making everything even worse by turning every terrifying situation into a dramatic disaster instead
I also keep thinking about how amazing it would be if they themselves became monsters inside the ghost story too. ♡(⸝⸝> ᴗ <⸝⸝)
The more I think about the idea, the more excited I get about it AAAAAAA
Got Dropped Into a Ghost Story still Gotta Work AU
⸻
KUROBA KAITO
Employee of Daydream Inc.’s
Basic Information
A young employee specializing in illusion-based survival methods.
Uses stage magic tricks and deception to survive inside Ghost Stories.
Skilled with:
Lockpicking
Sleight of hand
Hidden wires
Smoke bombs
Mirrors
Trick cards
Misdirection techniques
Rather than confronting entities directly, Kaito prefers confusing, distracting, or manipulating them.
⸻
Appearance
Wears the standard Daydream Inc.’s office uniform:
Black blazer
White dress shirt
Black tie
Polished black shoes
Always wears a pair of spotless white gloves.
Even after crawling through blood-covered hallways or abandoned buildings, the gloves somehow remain unnaturally clean.
Maintains a calm smile and relaxed posture at all times.
⸻
Codename
Inside Daydream Inc.’s, employees rarely use their real names during Ghost Story operations.
Kuroba Kaito’s registered codename is:
“Hato”
The codename comes from the Japanese word for “dove,” chosen because of his white dove mask and the calm, almost gentle atmosphere he carries inside Ghost Stories.
Many employees casually call him:
“That annoying dove.”
Despite the nickname sounding harmless, Hato is considered one of the most unpredictable employees within Daydream Inc.’s field teams.
⸻
Animal Mask
Like many field employees of Daydream Inc.’s, Kaito wears an animal-themed mask during certain operations to reduce contamination risks and conceal identity inside unstable Ghost Stories.
Kaito’s assigned mask is:
White Dove Mask
Appearance:
Smooth white surface
Long elegant beak shape
Thin silver detailing around the eyes
Slight crack near one side of the mask
Blue feather markings beneath the eyes
The mask resembles a peaceful stage prop at first glance.
However, many employees report feeling strangely uneasy whenever Kaito wears it in complete silence.
⸻
Personality
Constantly smiling.
Rarely shows fear.
Maintains a perfect poker face even during life-threatening situations.
Casually performs magic tricks in the middle of dangerous scenarios.
Other employees find him deeply unsettling.
Some workers claim Kaito smiles too naturally inside Ghost Stories, almost as if he belongs there.
⸻
Background
Every member of Kaito’s family died years ago under mysterious circumstances.
Since then, Kaito has become obsessed with earning points.
He repeatedly enters dangerous Ghost Stories with little regard for his own safety.
His only goal is obtaining a Wish Ticket.
Wish:
“I want my family back.”
⸻
Death
Ironically, Kaito dies inside a relatively simple Rank C Ghost Story.
The story itself revolves around nothing more than the theft of a cursed gemstone.
Most employees considered the mission harmless.
Kaito never returned.
Official recordings recovered by Daydream Inc.’s archives show Kaito smiling weakly while blood slowly stains his white gloves during his final moments.
⸻
KAITO KID
Mutation of Kuroba Kaito
A-Rank Ghost Story Entity
After Kuroba Kaito’s death, the original Rank C story mutated into an uncontrollable A-Rank Ghost Story.
The story became known as:
“Phantom Thief KID”
⸻
Entity Appearance
Appears as a phantom magician dressed in:
A white formal suit
Blood-stained gloves
A flowing white cape
A cracked monocle
Deep wounds across his body
The inside of the cape resembles moving black smoke.
His face is pale and corpse-like.
Always smiling.
⸻
Behavior
Constantly laughs throughout the story.
His laughter changes unpredictably:
Playful
Mocking
Hysterical
Almost painfully sad
Treats the Ghost Story like a stage performance.
Enjoys psychologically tormenting players.
Rarely kills immediately.
Prefers turning fear into entertainment.
⸻
ENTRY METHOD — “KID’s Invitation”
Unlike normal Ghost Stories discovered by Daydream Inc.’s employees, the “Phantom Thief KID” story does not have a stable entrance.
Instead, victims are selected through mysterious robbery invitations known as:
KID Invitations
⸻
Invitation Appearance
The invitation appears as an elegant white card decorated with:
Silver borders
Playing card symbols
Blue rose patterns
A red gemstone seal
Each card contains:
A robbery announcement
A specific target gemstone
A location
An exact time for the “performance”
The message is always signed with:
— Kaito KID
⸻
Activation
Once someone accepts or fully reads the invitation, contamination quietly begins.
At the exact time written on the card, the victim is forcibly dragged into the Ghost Story regardless of their location.
Some disappear in crowded streets. Others vanish from locked apartments or moving vehicles.
Witnesses often report:
Falling white feathers
Flickering lights
The sound of distant laughter
Playing cards scattered across the floor
before the victim disappears completely.
⸻
START OF THE STORY
Victims usually awaken inside:
Museums
Art galleries
Mansions
Auction halls
Luxury cruise ships
All centered around KID’s announced robbery target.
The environment initially appears beautiful and glamorous.
However, the deeper players progress into the story, the more distorted reality becomes.
Walls begin shifting.
Hallways loop endlessly.
Reflections start moving independently.
And somewhere within the darkness—
KID continues preparing his “show.”
———
Story Structure
Every run of the story begins the same way:
The building lights suddenly turn on.
Classical music begins playing.
A spotlight appears in complete darkness.
Then KID announces his newest “theft.”
Afterward, the game begins.
———
SURVIVAL METHOD — “KID’s Game”
Currently, Daydream Inc.’s has only discovered one reliable extraction method from the “Phantom Thief KID” Ghost Story.
Victims must follow KID’s game.
The Ghost Story is structured like a massive theatrical chase sequence.
KID acts as the “phantom thief,” while the victims are forced into the role of “police” pursuing him throughout the story area.
Note:
Daydream Inc.’s is still actively researching alternative extraction methods. At present, all other attempted methods have resulted in failure, severe contamination, or death.
⸻
HOW THE GAME WORKS
KID continuously moves through different locations while stealing artifacts, gemstones, or keys connected to the story.
Victims must chase after him while surviving:
Illusions
Traps
Hallucinations
Psychological manipulation
Environmental distortions
Throughout the chase, KID constantly interferes with players using magician tricks and staged performances.
Strangely, surviving these tricks without resisting too aggressively appears to stabilize the story temporarily.
According to Daydream Inc.’s records, it is actually safer for players to be successfully affected by KID’s harmless magician tricks at least one or twice.
Examples include:
Fake disappearances
Card illusions
Forced audience participation
Hallway misdirection
Temporary confinement tricks
Completely avoiding all interaction often causes KID’s aggression level to rise much faster.
Note :
Being affected by KID’s tricks too frequently can cause permanent contamination and make it difficult to distinguish reality from illusion.
⸻
SPECIAL ABILITIES
Shapeshifting
KID can alter his appearance to manipulate players emotionally.
He may appear as:
Trusted teammates
Dead loved ones
Former survivors
Or even Kuroba Kaito himself before the mutation
Illusion Manipulation
KID can distort:
Hallways
Doors
Reflections
Recorded footage
Player perception
Many victims die unable to distinguish reality from illusion.
⸻
END CONDITION
If players successfully continue the chase until reaching the story’s final stage:
KID will eventually stop resisting.
He stands at the final location beneath a spotlight.
Then he throws the stolen gemstone toward the survivors.
Afterward:
The environment begins collapsing.
Lights shut off one by one.
KID disappears from sight.
Only then does the exit door appear.
Survivors who escape often report hearing soft laughter behind them moments before the story fully closes.
———
CONTAMINATION EFFECT
KID’s performances cause severe mental contamination.
Players who focus too long on:
His voice
His smile
His magic tricks
His performances
…begin developing an emotional obsession toward him.
Symptoms include:
Defending KID
Admiring him
Ignoring danger
Betraying teammates
Refusing to escape the story
Other more
Once contamination reaches its final stage, recovery becomes impossible.
Victims become permanent “fans” of KID.
———
CORE RULE OF THE STORY
Do not become overly obsessed with capturing KID himself.
The objective is only:
Retrieve the stolen gemstone.
Attempting to corner, restrain, or attack Kaito KID directly will trigger:
Aggression Phase
⸻
AGGRESSION PHASE
During this state:
KID stops behaving theatrically.
His smile becomes distorted.
Movement becomes unnaturally fast.
Hallucinations intensify.
The environment itself begins collapsing.
Official Daydream Inc.’s recordings during Aggression Phases are heavily corrupted by:
Static noise
Card symbols
Broken frames
Endless laughter
Survival rates drop drastically once Aggression begins.
⸻
FINAL CONTAMINATION RECORD
Some survivors later report hearing laughter in empty rooms long after escaping the story.
Others are discovered smiling alone while whispering:
“Did you enjoy the show?”
