Just watched the new smarty-pants short about how to respond when someone doesn't remember you, and I want to add to the conversation the opposite situation, where you definitely know the person but you want to downplay how much you remember them.

I had this issue, a guy I flirted with then ghosted from my astronomy class in 2018 was the host of an event I was a part of this February. We are literally still friends on Facebook.

So when I got there the organizer introduced us to each other and I had to fane barely remembering him. "Hey! Nice to meet you! Yeah I think we already know each other? We're already friends on Facebook? Oh yeah astronomy class! Great to see you again!"

We clearly both remembered but played it off well enough to not have to address anything.
