I have no idea where I was going with this, I was doodling during a conversation
Anyway yeah I'm glad for everyone who's able to ignore their CAGAB but I can't. I'm agender AND transfem, and being transfem affects my daily life in a specific way that I can't detach myself from.
Can I stop seeing transmisogynists oppose "transfem" and "nonbinary" as if we can't be both. Explode.
We need to start getting really annoying about this. Same with transfem & intersex. I wish I could be included in intersex and nonbinary posts on tumblr, but those spheres are so fucking transmisogynistic we're all chased out. They act as if transfem nonbinary and transfem intersex people don't exist and that trans women are in opposition to nonbinary and intersex people.
You're the ones excluding us, actually. So exhausting.

Anatomy
I finished this one several weeks ago and forgot to post it.
I copied this one from a picture of a finished project, so there is no pattern to share.
Eva Stratt idk how anyone can hate you. The woman you are!!!
DREDGE (FANART)
Me spending time with people: joy abounds, we are all connected and there is hope!
Me 1 day later: I need to be left alone to gather the pieces of Me together
Me 2 days later: there is something very rotten at my core and I will almost certainly die unloved
y'know i don't really love how people use "butch" interchangeably with "handy"
*north american approaching lesbian couple* so which one of you is useful and which one of you is the woman

What is up with lefty types pushing to learn practical skills (sewing/gardening/etc whatever) as like "you'll need to know this after The Revolution:tm:" and not, like, "this is a useful skill to help yourself & others in your communities Right Now". You all sound like doomsday preppers and it's weirding me out. We don't have to prep for communist rapture maybe thee revolution starts with helping your neighbors
YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN LIKE....... it's weird. It's a subtle distinction but it's weird. People wanna be protagonists in post apocalypse movies so bad & when you're like "well that's not going to fucking happen innit" they call you a counterrevolutionary. Like yeah no I'm on board with dismantling the establishment etc etc I'm just saying you're being fucking weird about it. This is an action movie hero fantasy in a gen z aesthetic trenchcoat. You can just repair your clothes and feed people Right Now
The thing is. If the goal is "help yourself and your community", a lot of people's material reality makes these types of skills ultimately pretty inefficient ways to achieve that goal when compared to other, less exciting alternatives. Like e.g. if what I want to do is feed people in my community, I'm going to achieve more by taking some overtime hours at my job and donating that money to a food bank or something than I would ever be able to achieve if I spent all my free time gardening.
So the only reason why I'd choose to spend my time gardening in this situation would be for fun, or out of a sense of personal fulfillment. Which to be clear is completely morally neutral. But like. If you're aware of the fact that these skills are a pretty inefficient way to "help your community" which you're choosing over the efficient alternatives due to personal enjoyment, and you were uncomfortable admitting that, I definitely see how it'd be tempting to conceptualize developing these skills as things that are going to be vital to Helping Your Community in a future hypothetical situation.
Food banks and meal programs close to me partner up with gardeners and community gardens, so I don't think that's quite right.
Skills like gardening and food preservation and people around who can teach those skills can be a really important part of food security
In particular, access to gardening can really increase the quality of people's diets in areas where fresh vegetables and fruits are not as available.
I was learning in my African American history class about how when Black people in the USA started moving into cities, the cities passed laws and ordinances to restrict gardening because it was an ingrained part of their culture at this point to keep a garden to provide for some of their needs for food
If we want a world where cheap food produced by underpaid/slave labor in ways that damage the environment and are shipped across the planet no longer exists without causing major societal issues then we need to prepare for that now, even if it’s not the most convenient or practical. If a good percentage of the population is growing food for themselves and others, they can better push for regulations, boycott companies, etc.
If we want a world with quality clothing without sweatshops where fast fashion companies aren’t dumping unsold clothes in landfills we need to prepare for that now, even if it’s not the most convenient or practical. If a good percentage of the population can make, tailor, and/or repair clothes, people can use that leverage to fight for an ethical, sustainable fashion industry.
There’s a reason why places like Detroit are hubs of urban farming — because that’s what’s helped people survive after everything collapsed. There are real, actual people around the world who have and are using these skills to help their communities. Hunting and gardening allowed my parents to feed me and my siblings. Preserving food meant that we didn’t starve when ice storms resulted in us losing power for days to weeks at a time because nobody wanted to replace failing infrastructure. My local Master Gardeners donate nearly a thousand pounds of fresh vegetables each year to food banks — better quality and less ecologically damaging than the food bank could ever afford to buy.
Also, people’s mental health matters. Seeing real, tangible evidence that they can *do* something empowers people and gives them the ability to make more changes. And let’s be real, most people’s lives are not going to be improved by even more time at work.
If there’s ever going to be any positive societal change, we’re going to need to work at it from different angles. If working overtime and donating money to causes that are important to you is your way to contribute, then do it. Other people have other ways of contributing, and we need to support each other instead of tearing people down if we want to succeed.

biting can communicate so many emotions. angry? one big bite. affectionate? lots of little bites. sad? chewing on something thoughtfully. happy? many chomps. what isn’t there to love about it
on a completely unrelated note could the people I love move within 1-2 feet of me
The thing about doing house and yard work is like. You would think that you could go out and weed until you get tired, and then come in and do something a bit more low-intensity like tile or wood cutting, then have a cup of tea and go back out into the yard. BUT. High intensity works like weeding results in The Tremblies. And you canNOT handle a circular saw when you have The Tremblies. So clearing a patch of the garden lays you up for like an hour at the computer, making multiple typos (because of The Tremblies), so even writing a chapter of your story isn't convenient enough to bother with. Weeds should not have this kind of time commitment outside of the actual weeding.
i have the kind of melancholy that attracts me to large bodies of water.
