A Hollow Start AU

A Bleach Au I've been meaning to draw.

Basically, instead of gaining Shigigami powers from Rukia at the start of the story, Ichigo gains his hollow powers instead.

The hollow that attacks Ichigo's family is different this time. It's so strong that one hit manages to severely injure Rukia, who is unable to even move after the brutal strike. Ichigo of course can't just sit by and let her die, so he puts himself between her and the hollow and nearly gets his arm bitten off.

Lucky for Ichigo, the bite from the hollow triggers his own latent hollow powers, enabling him to transform into a hollow himself and destroy his attacker. After, Rukia expects Ichigo to turn around and attack her, but instead he gently picks her up and makes a soft, hissing noise as he tires to tend to her grievous wounds.

Thankfully Urahara arrives soon after this and gets the situation under control. He brings them back to his shop where he can heal Rukia and help Ichigo get back into his human form.

When everything settles down, Rukia decides to stay in the human world and help Ichigo train to control his new Hollow powers. It's the least she can do considering he saved her life despite her failure to protect his.
