Kit, Ty and Dru 

This fandom really needs to get its head around around the fact that you can enjoy an authors work without being a fan of the author. Cassandra Clare has been called out multiple times for her disgusting and on-going homophobia and racism. just because you don’t see  how its racist or homophobic doesn’t mean it inst . also if this is the case for you , you must see your privilege especially if you are an adult .

 black children , children of colour and LGBTQ+ children have been forced to speak out about the hurt Casandra has caused them numerous times, while white people in this fandom- adults especially have ignored them and carried in using phrases such as ‘our rep queen or we stan ’etc etc. 

the white adults defending Cassandra Clare , genuinely disgust me. just because you met her at some stupid meet and greet and she said something nice to you , does not erase the hurt people have felt because of her . its also not up to you to say that something isn’t racist or homophobic. its not your right to take away peoples hurt. say it with me you ignorant bastards . its not your right to take away peoples hurt .

 Another very important point i would like to say is you have to stop asking people, again especially minors that have been affected , what Cassandra Clare did wrong. its all over the internet and free for you to see , you being uneducated its not someones problem to sit down and write an essay to justify their hurt.especially minors.

finally i’m not going to call anybody out by name or tag them , but if this carries on i will and i will respond to your defense of her personally . but to those people you know very well who you are and next time you’ll find your @ and you names on a post like this next time . 

 i’m serious when i say this if you in anyway support her , unfollow me right now and don’t interact with me again. i don’t care if we were friends we aren’t anymore. the white people in this fandom should be boosting the voices of those hurt by Cassandra , instead of trying to burry them

he’s nice, and caring, and gentle —but he’ll also joke around with Will and Tessa, as well as fiercely protect them and show his affection for them

it’s so hard for people to hate Jem that I genuinely haven’t met anybody who doesn’t like him, and the best part?? he’s a main character!!

I love characters like Will or Matthew who are very witty and can be sarcastic, but how rarely do we get a love interest who’s such a kind person and isn’t written off? especially since being nice isn’t the only thing about him, so it’s not like he’s boring or “too nice” or anything like that. he’s a genuinely interesting and good character, and I love that he can be one while still having a beautiful heart

“I was a police officer for nearly ten years and I was a bastard. We all were.

“This essay has been kicking around in my head for years now and I’ve never felt confident enough to write it. It’s a time in my life I’m ashamed of. It’s a time that I hurt people and, through inaction, allowed others to be hurt. It’s a time that I acted as a violent agent of capitalism and white supremacy. Under the guise of public safety, I personally ruined people’s lives but in so doing, made the public no safer… so did the family members and close friends of mine who also bore the badge alongside me.

“But enough is enough.

“The reforms aren’t working. Incrementalism isn’t happening. Unarmed Black, indigenous, and people of color are being killed by cops in the streets and the police are savagely attacking the people protesting these murders.

“American policing is a thick blue tumor strangling the life from our communities and if you don’t believe it when the poor and the marginalized say it, if you don’t believe it when you see cops across the country shooting journalists with less-lethal bullets and caustic chemicals, maybe you’ll believe it when you hear it straight from the pig’s mouth.”
