Raising Arrows.

The one thing I've always loved about Tumblr is the fact that you can express yourself and believe what you believe without unnecessary judgement.

I suppose that's why I've always had such trouble building friendships. I am a firm believer in "agree to disagree" but some of these moms out here are savages and I strictly don't have time for it.

And for family meetings!!!!

We held our first family meeting for the new year and it went... okay... lol.

Ylana was engaged and excited; Brielle was excited but not so much engaged 🤣

We discussed our favorite thing that happened last week and our schedule for the current week; we planned fun activities and set our goals for the week; we signed up for family contributions and I passed out allowance and screen time tickets.

1,460 days without you 💔 I've been quiet the last couple of days, and may be for a few more. It's been four years since my dad's been gone but it feels like yesterday... the pain is still palpable. My dad was magnetic, charasmatic, larger than life, a true rockstar - to every single person who knew him. He was one of a kind and I couldn't have asked for a better role model. He taught me strength, compassion, forgiveness, humility, unconditional love, and to always stay positive no matter what.

We had a party box to deliver to someone two hours out of town and when I realized that our destination was only 37 minutes away from my Uncle Nelson, I knew we couldn't pass up the opportunity to pay him a visit ♥️

After delivering the box, we drove to a nearby park. The goal was to stay out there for at least 2 hours but the heat and humidity wouldn't let us make it past an hour.

The tunnel was our safe zone from the heat and the little bees who were trying to steal our drinks, lol

Uncle Nelson reminds me alot of my father, from the way he loves on the girls to the facial expressions he makes so it was quite heartbreaking to see but I made it through the entire visit without shedding a tear and then cried the entire way back home 🤦🏾‍♀️

Before leaving town, we stopped at my dad's favorite spot and ordered his special, minus the chilli and onions because I knew the girls wouldn't eat that.

On May 29th, the corner of our toilet's tank spontaneously shattered.

32 days later, I finally had the time to replace it so I dived right in and was immediately faced with disaster.

In November 2018, I trusted someone to remodel my bathroom and seven months later, I was faced with the reality that they did a half-buff, lazy job.

When replacing a toilet, everything BUT the flange should come up from the floor. As I lifted the old toilet from the floor, I came face to face with missing flooring, broken PVC, and a missing flange.

As I inspected the bottom of the toilet, I found that the flange was glued to the wax ring instead of screwed to the floor. After finally being able to break it free, I realized that it was just the spacer and the other half of the "flange" was glued to the pipe. The entire thing would need to be replaced.

I checked the time... 8:16pm.

All of my local hardware stores were closed and I didn't want to leave our home exposed to the sewer gases so I put my faith in Walmart. As always, they failed me (🤦🏾‍♀️😅 ) and I went home irate and mildly defeated.

Someone's irresponsibility will always become someone else's responsibility.

In essence, because someone else thought it would be okay to cut corners, a project that should have only lasted one hour, turned into ten.
