Nap time
Listening to Adam’s constant threats takes a lot out of a girl
Is that how it’ll end for me, Vicki, like it did for them? Wandering around our old house, wailing…wanting so much and ending up with nothing.
Well, yes, Carolyn. If all that wailing you eventually do over loser Jeb Hawkes is anything to go by.
There’s a new meme template making the rounds and I wanted to join in

The Karlen Report
The Karlen Report: Talked to Tammi tonight. She said Johnny has made a complete recovery from his bladder infection and is feeling good, better than he has for a long time, and he loved all the get-well cards.. They watched the DS movies on TCM last week. She told me to call him but his phone was off. I’ll try tomorrow.
@lyric-lili thank you for inspiring me to do some dark shadows fanart again!!!
julia and willie are the only competent staff barnabas had and ever will have - i imagine willie always brings her coffee (just how she likes it), and in return she sometimes takes care of his wounds and even kinda …. sometimes … actually worries about him??? :’D
nah just kidding, she’s only here for the vampire
--I think as the series progressed, it wasn’t just about Barnabas for Julia anymore. He was a top priority, yes, but she really grew to care about everyone else-- Willie, the Collins family, even the ingenues (LOL). The Collins clan’s bizarre problems became her problems because they had become her family.
All the poor spellers in Dark Shadows fandom should enjoy this one...or maybe not.

What's all the fuss about a time traveling female doctor? Dark Shadows fans had that in the late 1960s and she was awesome!. Just sayin'...
“A Streak in the Night”
A Barnabas and Julia fanfiction
by Dawn Dillingham July 2009 Challenge
July 4, 1972 Julia fanned herself as she craned her neck to watch the sparkling fireworks explode over the Great Estate. Even though the hour was late, the July 4th night was still hot and steamy. *Sultry*, she thought to herself. *That* was the word she was looking for: the night air was sultry. It seemed that all of Collinsport had turned out for the annual Collinwood Independence Day picnic. Elizabeth opened the grounds to the townspeople every year on this day, providing food, games, and when night finally fell, the much anticipated pyrotechnics in the sky. Julia oohed and ahhed with the rest of the crowd as red, white, and blue flowers of fire blossomed above them, accompanied by loud booms and whirling whistles. The halls of the mansion and the surrounding landscape would glow briefly and then fade back to black, making shadows dance before the red-headed doctor’s eyes. A particularly bright white rocket spun into the velvet darkness, providing greater illumination, and that’s when Julia saw it. *Was that…? Did I really just see-?* Julia couldn’t be sure. Maybe it had just been a trick of the light. Or maybe not. *Surely not…* She thought to herself. She focused her eyes in the direction of the vision when another barrage of bright fireworks exploded and confirmed her conclusion. In seconds the light faded but the image of a bare male backside dashing toward the woods was emblazoned on her mind. Two warm hands came to rest on her shoulders and when she turned slightly, warm lips pressed against her cheek. “Did you just see that?” She asked her husband incredulously as she waved in the direction of the now absent streaker. “Yes, as a matter of fact, I did.” He wrapped his arms around Julia from behind as they refocused on the fireworks display. “I believe that was Quentin’s payment for losing a bet to David. As I recall the agreement, if he were to lose, Quentin must do something ‘flashy’ and ‘racy’ during the Fourth of July celebration. I would say he succeeded, wouldn’t you?” Julia chuckled. “Yes, on both counts.” Happily the couple watched the finale of the annual display, the conflagration leaving a smoke cloud of immense proportions hanging over the crowd as it began to disperse. Julia wrapped her arm through Barnabas’ as they turned to make the short walk to their home. “Barnabas? Have you ever given any thought to streaking?” Julia asked quietly. “Julia! Absolutely not!” He looked at her aghast as he halted and she stepped in front of him. For the first time, Barnabas noticed how the sultry night air had caused Julia’s cotton, sleeveless blouse to cling provocatively to her slender frame. It was a thoroughly enticing sight. She stepped closer and looked up at him with a lusty smile. “Not even if the dash was only from the bathroom to the bedroom? You know, if you did, I bet I could make it worth your while,” she offered as she pressed herself seductively against him. Barnabas growled lowly as he leaned down to kiss Julia. “That’s quite an enticing wager you propose.” His mind raced with the possibilities as he pulled Julia to him and trailed kisses down her neck before returning to whisper hotly into her ear. “I think I’ll accept that bet, my dear.” He answered as he quickly turned a smiling Julia toward the Old House. That night, Barnabas accepted Julia’s dare, she kept her promise, there were no losers to their bet, and there were plenty of private fireworks to enjoy.
too much chaos tbh
Julia meets Roxanne Drew (Samantha’s sister) and Lamar Trask, the town undertaker. After Roxanne and Lamar leave to discuss something private on the veranda (lips would be fine), Julia laments that she knows that Roxanne will someday soon be cursed with vampirisim and if she only knew who was responsible she might be able to warn Roxanne and help her avoid that fate.
Well gee, Julia, could it be that maybe Barnabas is responsible? You know, that blood thirsty vampire who YOU released from his coffin a couple nights ago and has already attacked people in the village? And maybe, JUST MAYBE, the whole reason Roxanne was targeting Maggie in the present was to get revenge on Barnabas?
--I think Julia shares my opinion that since we meet Vampire Roxanne in 1970 BEFORE Julia went to 1840 and prematurely released Barnabas from his coffin, someone else made Roxanne a vampire in the original 1840 timeline. She’s probably thinking there should be another vampire in town.
I’m just gonna pretend. Kthnxbye

“Peter Bradford! She needs my help! I know you will come back for me! Will you let me help you both?”
At Eagle Hill Cemetery, Julia says she knows where Peter Bradford’s grave is because Vicki took her there once. But there is no sign of freshly dug earth. The grass hasn’t been disturbed for some time. Barnabas, however, believes the children. It’s another sign, he insists, that Vicki is in dire straits and needs him (*Why not let her hubby take care of her, Barnabas? She married him. Geez...). He calls out to Peter, begging to be allowed to save them both. Nothing happens. Julia convinces Barnabas to go back to Collinwood and wait for them to come to him. Then they hear a noise. They go back to the grave. They are shocked to see that a tombstone has appeared on the grave next to Peter’s. Barnabas and Julia read the inscription: “Victoria Winters, Hanged as a Witch in 1796″.
“Will you come with me or not?”
“Of course, I will.”
“But I must warn you, you may be coming back here alone.”
Barnabas questions David and Amy. The want to know what he intends to do about the grave that shouldn’t be there. Can they go back to the cemetery with him? He tells them to go and wash their hands for dinner (*lol). Barnabas wonders if the children have second sight. Vicki is to die tonight (*how does he know that?), so a grave would have been dug. Julia is losing the battle for logic as she again reminds him that everything happened 200 years ago. He’s going to Eagle Hill Cemetery. Is Julia coming? If so, she must realize that she may be returning alone. The eavesdropping kids emerge from the kitchen area. Amy wonders what he meant by that.
“Barnabas knows a lot of things that he doesn’t tell anybody, Amy. We shall just have to watch him.”
