and in it, he not only devotes a chapter to Muppet Treasure Island, but also references this very post

so, to recap

no, Tim Curry is absolutely NOT a Muppet; however

. During the title song where you go down to Erik's lair, I got separated from my brother and almost got run over by the boat.

. When Erik was chasing Buquet in the rafters, I got smacked in the face by his cape twice.

. I got the string bracelet tied on my wrist by young Erik. When he was getting dragged towards the middle of the area, he tried to grab my hand. It was so sad! Also got to see the monkey music box he showed me. Another person got the note, which I envied, but I got the string bracket, so I was happy.

. We had the indoor stage for All I Ask Of You, and Erik kept touching my brother’s shoulder, while my brother awkwardly stood there.

. Oh god, that bed scene with the hands…I had remembered someone talking about that, and I saw it. It was so awkward. My brother and I kept looking at each other and trying not to laugh like the immature children we are.

. After Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, we didn’t make it downstairs, but instead we were up above and ended up with a great view of Erik. He actually had to shove me aside, and at first I was confused as to why until I saw his shadow being projected on the wall on the floor below. Had I stayed where I was, my shadow would have probably been there too lol. I know a lot of Phantom fans (the ones I know) are obsessed with his hands. I didn’t understand why until tonight. I was literally right there with his hands in my face. It was…definitely an experience. And then when he was laughing maniacally, he turned and looked directly at me at one point. Oh my god I got so freaked out.

. I feel so bad, but also not sorry. During the final lair, when Raoul was struggling on the ground while bound in ropes, he made this one face and just kept it for a couple seconds, and when I pointed it out to my brother, we both cracked up so badly that I had to cover up my laugh with a cough; during a part where it was silent. I’m pretty sure people stared at us.

Unfortunately, that second billboard is a photoshopped fake. BUT the real billboards that went up are just as fun!

So PETA put up that top billboard in 2018 in Baltimore, and the restaurant across the street, Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, put up a response. They also debuted a beer called, appropriately, PETA Tears, but I digress.

The ME was a subtle call out, a warning shot if you will.

But earlier this year (2023) right in time for Lent in very catholic Baltimore, PETA decided to try again.

To which Jimmy’s decided fuck that, let’s get two billboards this time. (WaPo)
